The lava hose was a rare spectacle to see in 2017. The lava was spurting out of a lava tube and into the ocean.
Images of Hawaii focuses on sharing the Aloha of Hawaii to the world. Check out my color changing coffee mugs that feature Hawaiian landscapes.
Aloha, my name is Charlene Meyers and I am the proud owner of Images of Hawaii. In 2006, I decided that I wanted to share my passion for the Hawaiian Islands with others through photography.
One of the most common questions I get as a photographer is, how did I get such unique shots? I take my camera everywhere I go, since I never know when a magical moment may present itself. In addition to just simply carrying a camera on a daily basis, I often adventure out onto the active lava fields with a pack full of camera gear to try and get the perfect unique picture. Sometimes I get the perfect shot, but other times I have simply taken my camera for a walk since the conditions are not safe or weather is not cooperating. No matter what photos I do or don’t get, I always have fun and love seeing what this amazing world has to show.
My favorite part of being a photographer is getting to interact with people from all over the world. It’s awesome to see the excitement in people’s eyes when they tell me about their experiences in Hawaii. In particular, I love talking with other people who share the same passion for photography as I do. On multiple occasions, I have taken enthusiasts out with me for a photography adventure to show them the mystical beauty that Pele (lava goddess) blesses this stunning landscape with. Watching new land get formed right before your eyes is an unbelievable experience that only a few people in this world get to witness.
If you so happen to find yourself on the peaceful island of Hawai’I (Big Island), come visit me at the Volcano Market on Sunday mornings. We can talk story – as we say here in Hawaii.
Aloha till we can meet in person, Charlene Meyers
