I am really Susan B. Anderson, (the "arteest" in residence in my little domain), it's good to meet you!
MY most sincere gratitude to you, for your appreciation of my artwork! Thank you much for being curious about the "real person behind the beads" and the additional creations I want to share with yous who follow me!

I often get mistaken for Susan B. Anthony (the famous suffragist who's wayyy older than me, but her name sounds similar). But that makes it easier to remember.

My imagination led me from childhood to become an artist. As a toddler, my cherished box of 64 crayons would mesmerize me for hours as I arranged them in color sequences and pallets. Not surprisingly, the black crayon was always used up first, as I held the many colorful crayons precious.
I entered college with a fine arts major until i was discouraged by someone close to me who asked: "what I would do with a fine arts degree?", but "...sell velvet paintings at the corner gas station?"
So, I switched to business, (not by choice) and after failing miserably, negotiated graphic arts as an acceptable compromise.
As a graphic artist, I could be in my element, surrounded by color and creativity...this was just before the cusp of computer graphics, and oh did we use cool tools and art materials (back then)!

Motherhood eventually took precedence of my career and for 25 years i was focused otherwise. My children grew up without a tv, but an ample supply of any art product you can imagine!

Now, as the kids are grown, I am reviving the artist in my new chapter of life!

I have become enthralled with collecting vintage jewelry and beads! Each piece has a story of the woman it was worn by...and I began collecting their stories as well.

As unique ideas occur to me, I disassemble the jewelry and redesign them into useful works of art that no two are alike.
