A homegrown business

Origin Story

When our children were much smaller, Stephen discovered fairies living in our garden, so he made a door for them. Now they had a home. He got more and more requests from friends, family and neighbours to make doors for the fairies and goblins in their own gardens and home. And the business grew from there.

Stephen then decided to add some mystery to our community and he installed doors all around our local area in New Zealand. Some of which were quite hard to find. An online map helped our fans find the various doors hidden around Wellington. We plan to do the same thing here again in Switzerland.

He also donated doors to playgrounds and schools and soon, what started as a private backyard project blossomed into a thriving local New Zealand business with a bustling Facebook page. We became a fixture in the local community, with our doors being highly sought after. We were even featured in several local papers.

People continue send us messages, telling us how much their fairy doors are loved!

"After buying a fairy door for my best friend Mary, I also donated one to the Hospice as they have lots of children that just need a special something at the most difficult time of losing a loved one." - Jan Nicol

"Seeing the absolute joy and excitement in my grandson every time he visits. Checking his door for treats from the fairies when he visits. It's heartwarming seeing joy in adults too. The doors give kids of all ages that excitement and happiness of childhood innocence and escape from adulthood for a moment" - Wendy Symes

"The fairy doors that we purchased from you add an essential feature to our Kindy environment. At our Kindy we ‘believe’ in Fairies and the magic the doors ignite in the children's imagination continues to impress us year after year." - Ria Harding
