This is so creative. I can't wait to put a few photos in it. I can't even begin to describe the amazing layers of creativity and detail in this mini book. I know of nowhere else that I could have ever found something this much fun. This artist is unique and gifted.

This card is going to a friend who adores Poe, and I will have a hard time parting with it. He will be so excited. The detail is amazing. There is so much talent in these products!

I love this card so much that I refuse to send it to anyone. It's for me! No one else makes cards like this. It's very special and the detail is so impressive.

These cards are so beautiful. It is clear that a lot of work goes into them and the artist is truly talented.

About

Some of us just can't buy a corny greeting card off the rack...

There are three things I know for sure, 1.) There is never enough black in traditional paper-crafting, 2.) Any and all occasions can be "gothed" out, and 3.) There are many more people in the world who love the darkness than I ever thought possible!

The idea for this shop came about when I was designing my usual handmade Christmas cards I send to close friends and family every year. I wanted to incorporate black and an Old World feeling. When they were a big hit, I designed some Valentine's cards with the same "darker" concept. From there, Immortal Visions Crafts was born and I've never been more happy in my little craft room!

The name "Immortal Visions" was inspired by a fantastic quote by Giorgio de Chirico: "To become truly immortal, a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken, it will enter the realms of childhood visions and dreams." It has been my inspiration, my philosophy and my internet handle for many years. The name really seemed to fit what I was trying to portray in my alternative paper crafts.

My tools of the trade include an always dull, table top paper cutter, a new Sizzix die cut machine that I am still learning how to use and four pairs of scissors. The scissors have names (usually bad words) and are all different. The sharpest pair, used for intricate details and my compulsive clipping, can, and has, chopped up flesh. Don't worry - the blood on all of my creations is totally fake. Really.

I am always looking for inspiration in antiquity...I spend a lot of time looking at Renaissance paintings, illuminated manuscripts, Gothic/Victorian fashion and ancient artifacts. Most of what I see can not be represented properly on a card, but I do try my best to capture the romance and mystery of nights gone by. And sometimes, I just get silly too. :-)

Immortal Visions strives to recreate the art of the past with vintage paper crafts. Items listed are not old - only inked and distressed to look that way. It is my wish to offer a product that transports the customer to a time of inkwells, parchment and writing by candlelight. I hope to share my passion for these lost arts with all of you!

I'm just a nerdy girl with a craft room. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions, concerns or special requests at immortalvisions [!at] gmail.com.

~ Custom orders are possible and will be handled on a case-per-case basis. Just ask!
