Jefferson Award Winner helping to Protect front line workers and vulnerable Adults and Kids

I am a senior at San Jose State University majoring in Industrial Design. When Covid hit many of our family friends who were doctors and front line workers were stuggling to protect themselves due to PPE shortage. I decided to help in small way so started printing 3D faceshields and gave to friends. The word spread fast and I started getting calls from many hospitals including Stanford, Kaiser, Valley Medical, Alameda County hospital etc for more shields. I bought more 3d printers with the help of the member contribution from the non-profit InFUSE that I cofounded. I distributed close to 700 face shields. I distributed to nursing homes, group homes, special need adults and kids and medically vulnerable population.
I got recognised by the CBS New channel and was awarded the Jefferson Award for donating face shields and helping the community.
This inspired me to take the next step to get the youth who are part of the non-profit InFUSE to get involved in this project. Many of the tasks like assembly, packaging, customer support, accounting are done by youth with varied abilities. I have a dream of making this project that will eventually provide job oppurtunities to an all inclusive community. I hope ETSY will be a platform where my dream can come true!!!
