A Mother and Son Team
Ann Strong and JJ Strong are the mother and son team behind inGENEius - a Made in the USA company that creates unique products from wood, paper, metal, and felt. So how did two engineers end up in such an arty gig? It all started in 2007 with a laser cutter received in a trade. It really wasn't the kind of machine that could be used in the tool-making business Ann owned with her husband but it didn't take then 14-year-old JJ long to get the machine up and running. He began creating award plaques for local school groups then branched out selling clever creations at local craft shows. Finally, JJ did his first wholesale show just before setting off for college. Not exactly perfect timing but with the laser in mom's care over the next four years; She too, became intrigued with the creative possibilities. To date, they have designed thousands of custom items for stores, institutions, museums, and even high-end corporate gifts; and look forward to creating memorable pieces for you!
