Ich liebe die Fotografie, solange ich mich erinnern kann. Ich habe mich wirklich in es verliebt, obwohl ich in einem Fotografiekurs war, den ich in der High School besucht habe, in den alten Tagen, als wir den Film entwickeln und die Fotos selbst in einem dunklen Raum drucken mussten! Ich entschied mich nicht sofort, dass ich eine Karriere daraus machen wollte, aber schließlich erwarb ich 2003 einen Associate-Abschluss in Fotografie und mache seitdem Porträt- und Kunstarbeiten. Zur gleichen Zeit habe ich meinen ersten Sohn zur Welt gebracht und unterrichte ihn und seinen Bruder jetzt zu Hause, also war es rein in Teilzeit. Es ist jedoch ein wunderbares Ventil für mich, eine Möglichkeit, mich mit anderen Menschen zu verbinden und die Schönheit zu teilen, die ich in der Welt sehe, die Gott geschaffen hat.

Es war, während ich meinen Abschluss machte, dass ich mir den Namen In The Light Photography ausdachte. Es war eigentlich eine Aufgabe für eine Klasse! Da meine Vor- und Nachnamen für die Menschen etwas schwierig auszusprechen oder sich daran zu erinnern sind, wollte ich mir etwas anderes einfallen lassen, etwas, das meine Liebe zum Herrn verbinden würde. Also benutzte ich eine Zeile aus einem meiner Lieblingsverse ... "Geh im Licht, wie er im Licht ist" (1. Johannes 1,7).

Mein Stil der Fotografie hat sich im Laufe der Jahre weiterentwickelt, und ich fordere mich ständig heraus, verschiedene Blickwinkel und Methoden auszuprobieren. In meinem Shop finden Sie eine Vielzahl von Naturarbeiten, Tieren und meinen meistverkauften Fotos, die auf dem Campus der University of Notre Dame aufgenommen wurden. Sie finden auch eine Vielzahl von Montageoptionen für meine Fotografie, von Fotodrucken bis hin zu Leinwand-Galeriefolien, Kissen und Tragetaschen. Ich wurde auch mehrmals beauftragt, Fotos von bestimmten Gebieten in meiner Nähe im Norden von Indiana / Südwest-Michigan zu machen. I have loved photography as long as I can remember. I really fell in love with it though in a photography class I took in high school, back in the old days when we had to develop the film and print the photos ourselves in a dark room! I didn't decide that I wanted to make a career of it right away though, but eventually I earned an associate's degree in photography in 2003, and have been doing portrait and fine art work ever since. At the same time, I gave birth to my first son, and now homeschool him and his brother, so it has been purely on a part-time basis. It is a wonderful outlet for me though, a way to connect with other people and share the beauty I see in the world God created.

It was while I was earning my degree that I came up with the name, In The Light Photography. It was actually an assignment for a class! Being that my first and last names are somewhat difficult for people to pronounce or remember, I wanted to come up with something different, something that would tie in my love for the Lord. So, I used a line from one of my favorite verses...."Walk in the light, as He is in the light" (1 John 1:7).

My style of photography has developed over the years, and I am constantly challenging myself to try different angles and methods. In my shop you'll find a variety of nature work, animals, and my best-selling photos taken on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. You'll also find a variety of mounting options for my photography, from photo prints to canvas gallery wraps, pillows, and tote bags. I have also been commissioned several times to take photos of specific areas local to me in northern Indiana / southwest Michigan.
