Coming to God for Themselves
As a long-time Montessori educator in elementary environments and within Christian education settings, I made lots of my own materials. In 2018 a church hired me to begin a Montessori Sunday school in their brand new church. It met in a school. My carefully made materials could not be left out. Rather they had to be packed away quickly by people who were volunteering and wanting to get their families to lunch. Inadvertently works began to be damaged.
So, I plotted and dreamt about making quality materials on cloth and wood. I had a list of must haves: 1. meets the needs of the child, 2. be beautifully designed, 3. be sustainable, and 4. easy to clean and store.
I experimented for several years. I began testing the materials not just on the "normal" kid but also on kids who come from marginalized background, have different cultural competencies, or are neurodivergent. Every piece is beta tested by trained Montessori's and Catechists (CGSUSA). And just like Dr. Montessori, we modify as we observe, ponder, and listen.
And because one size doesn't fit all, we will work with you to customize for specific sizes, denominational/church-specific needs, worship aids, and adaptations for regional/cultural expression in materials. If you don't see something, just ask.
