I was very excited to receive this item so quickly. Our tree was without a skirt for 2 weeks before I decided to buy this. I absolutely love the beautiful fabrics and it looks great under my Christmas tree this year!

About

I Can't Stop Sewing.

I've been sewing pretty much continuously since I was about 10, when my mom first taught me to use the machine! Since then I've dabbled in lots of other areas...crochet, painting, ceramics, beading, decoupage, furniture refinishing, commercial sign painting, papier mache, soapmaking, basically whatever strikes my fancy at the time...but it always comes back to sewing.

Back in the 80s I did the craft show thing with my friend Sue; we did really well, almost so well we couldn't keep up. We did shows, private house parties, annual open houses at both her house and mine, and dabbled in wholesale. After many years, though, shows got harder and harder to find, and craft shows in general seemed to fall out of popularity, at least where we live, so both of us ended up getting "real jobs".

I never lost my drive to create, though. Eventually when my son was grown and I opened a tailoring shop in 2008, I gradually got back into the creative mode, selling what few things I had time to make in between the hems and zippers in my little shop. I had already opened my Etsy shop, but in the reality there were not enough hours in the day to make both things work so I needed to focus on my tailoring business to make ends meet. But that doesn't satisfy my need for creativity! So for my own sanity, I am now focusing on what makes me happiest and that is crafting.

In my years of tailoring and mending factory-made clothing, I realized that a lot of it is not made to last. Good news for the tailor, not so good for the consumer. So what I like to do is offer people things that are made with care, things that are meant to be used for a long time, or passed on to siblings or cousins, things that will not fall apart the first time they're used or washed.

I hope you'll enjoy browsing through my shop, and please feel free to ask me anything you'd like to know about my work! Thanks for visiting!

Accepted payment methods

Payment
At this time, I only accept PayPal.
Shipping
I ship via USPS. I am not responsible for items once they leave my hands; items lost or delayed by the postal service are out of my control. You will receive a tracking number as soon as I ship your item. You may purchase insurance if you wish; contact me before purchasing so I can give you the additional fee.

On ready-made items, I ship the same day whenever possible, or the next business day. Special orders of course require more time, please contact me if you want to order something custom-made.
Refunds and Exchanges
I do accept returns if shipped back to me, unworn and undamaged, within one week of receipt; you must pay return shipping. Please contact me first regarding returns.

No returns will be accepted on custom orders. I will send you pics of your item when it's finished, and will ship them to you when you have given your approval.
Additional policies and FAQs
Most of the time I do not pre-wash my fabrics, which is one reason I almost always recommend washing in cold water and drying on low, to minimize shrinkage.

Sometimes, there might be a question in my mind about how the fabric might act after washing, or sometimes fabrics contain a ridiculous amount of stabilizer, making them stiff, so at times I do wash it. If I haven't mentioned washing in my description, you can assume the fabric has not been prewashed.

I am happy to accept custom orders. Please message me if you see something you'd like in another size or color. I don't make multiples of the same item unless requested, so if you see something in my shop you can bet there won't be another like it in a different size unless you ask for it.
