    About

All of my work tells a story.

I have been an artist since I could hold a crayon or sit in the dirt and make mud pies and tiny pots. I grew up in a military family and I began school in Japan during the occupation. I had a Japanese art teacher who taught us how to use a brush, a Japanese music teacher who taught us to appreciate the meaning behind her dance movements and I visited pottery making towns, lantern and umbrella makers and silk fabric dyers. Japan was a rural country with ordered fields of color and formal, serene gardens and stunning views of Mt. Fuji, all of which instilled in me an appreciation of the natural world.

I raised my children in Maine. My husband and I now live on the east coast of Florida, where I have my studio.
