Preserving the spirits of nature, sacredly, ethically and professionally

Born in 1964 , raised in a small rural village in the south of England, Trudy spent her time in forests, along with sharing her childhood home with the many stray & needy animals she gathered. A born nemophilist, Trudy spend much time in & around Nomansland where her family hail from, nestled within the ancient New Forest, rich in folklores, tales & with a long magical history . As an animist, Trudys connection with the animal spirits along with her natural abilities as an Empath & Energy Healer swiftly became apparent from a very young age. Trudy was, & still is, a little too shy to admit this publicly, herself.

As an adult, Trudy managed a trout farm in Hampshire, where she enjoyed being hands on within nature as well as teaching the art of fly tying & fishing to groups of children with differing disabilities, children from impoverished backgrounds, children & adults suffering with mental health disabilities, along with the occasional celebrity!

Trudy was often jokingly referred to as ‘Mrs Doolittle’ because of the way she connected with animals & stray creatures she helped. Word spread so swiftly that Trudys story was picked up & featured on the UK Chanel 4's television series Pet Rescue.

In 2000, having now married, Trudy moved to Wales, a beautiful country steeped in magic, myths & legends. After becoming a Mother & still surrounded by her beloved animal waifs & strays, with the support and encouragement of her new family, Trudy finally pursued her life long interest of taxidermy. Initially preserving animals, along with the creation of ritual tools purely for herself; however her work was suddenly & unexpectedly ‘discovered’
& so, the hobby very quickly became a profession where Trudy meticulously creates taxidermy pieces used in theatrical & stage costumes, permanent commercial & domestic display, as well as designing & creating ritual tools that are used & cherished worldwide by the spiritual, Shamanic & pagan community.

Trudy is also very passionate about & actively promotes the protection of Wildlife which includes legal Taxidermy. She is often asked to assist in wildlife crime cases, aiding in obtaining evidence (via autopsy) for possible prosecution. Her work is on display & used by the Police Wildlife Crime Unit open days & talks given by the Wildlife Crime unit to help educate the general public about the Wildlife of England and Wales & on this subject, Trudy received written praise from the RSPCA* for "useful information regarding wildlife crime within this website and for the sourcing of her specimens, and her thoroughness in ensuring they are legally obtained".

From the very beginnings of The Spirit Keeper , back in 2011, Trudys goal was to regularly donate a proportion of her net profit to her supported registered animal charities, and this is something she is thrilled to be achieving. This includes volunteering her spare time to help 'hands on', donating taxidermy specimens for educational purposes, as well as buying Kennels, sending medical supplies & much needed equipment to help the Street Dogs Of Romania.

Welcome to The Spirit Keeper

The home of quality wildlife Taxidermy, unique Shamanic, Ritual and Spiritual Tools, Talisman,Totems and bespoke hand made Jewellery. Additional to this, I now produce an expanding range of Pagan items, with the same fine eye for detail, design and quality.

All preserved and created by an ArtisanTaxidermist, and Master Craftsman.

I have strong spiritual beliefs and every animal or bird is treated with the upmost respect. All wildlife used in my work, lived a full and natural life prior to their demise. I prefer not to use commercially mass bred animals and birds as they never had this freedom, and I feel the negative energies would taint my work.

All specimens are ethically, and importantly legally sourced.

From everything sold, I donate a proportion to legitimate and registered charities, including buying kennels, and helping with veterinary costs for the Street Dogs Of Romania Please refer to my website for further details of the charities I support.

For all the information, work ethics, beliefs, and for examples of just some of the work produced by The Spirit Keeper, as well as the services offered, please visit the website.

Why now become a fan in Facebook? Hopefully I will see you there!
