About

A CONTEMPORARY TWIST ON THE CLASSIC CRAFT, WITH A FOCUS ON THE DETAILS & HIGH QUALITY - MADE FROM THE HEART OF AN ARTIST

Indigo Knots & Collective started when my mom enlightened me to the idea that I was unhappy because I stop creating things after my son was born. For those of you who have kids, you know it is hard to find time for the things you love – outside of them of course.

ART IS IN MY DNA. For as long as I can remember I have always done some form of art - with painting and clay as my go-to favorites. While I still love painting and clay work, both art forms don’t really allow for a toddler to be running around. After some research and experimenting, I fell in love with knotting. As something that I could do with my hands, thoroughly enjoy, and most importantly could drop at a moment’s notice to chase a little monster, it really fits the bill. But to be honest, as the daughter of a flowerchild artist and a closet hippie, I think it was only a matter of time that I would find myself here in the world of macramé.

BECOMING A MACRAME ARTIST. I made my first piece of macramé as a Christmas present for one of my best friends back in December 2017. Over the next several months I quickly became fascinated with this art form. I found turning a simple piece of string into a beautiful wall hanging, with my very own hands, to be pretty amazing. I love how it brings interest, warmth, texture, and earthiness into your home. And in most cases can be that unexpected and perfect touch to almost any decor style, not just boho.

I LIVE AND BREATH ART. My full-time job is in the Graphic Design field as an Art Director. I spend my time outside of work fulfilling macramé orders, looking for new inspiration – Pinterest is my kryptonite, helping friends decorate their homes, creating custom pieces for family in a variety of mediums, and making fun little art projects with my son. Truly from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed, I squeeze something art related into every minute I can.

As with my full-time job and all my little side projects, I just love creating things for others. My all-time favorite project are custom orders, which demand a lot of thinking, creativity, challenges, and all the process that goes along with it. Like getting to know my customers and finding the perfect design that will make them smile.

FOCUSING ON WHAT MATTERS. I work hard to create pieces that are reasonably-priced, without compromising on quality and originality. I specialize in handwoven macramé wall hangings, plant hangers, and custom shaped pieces for home decor. When you make a purchase from my shop, you are getting a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Each piece is made with only premium, eco-friendly materials and an authentic design.

Each step of my creative process has been imagined, planned, and executed by me. Every strand of rope is individually measured, cut, hung, woven, and cut again by hand, ending in a beautiful and intricate design. I am so grateful to those who choose to purchase my work, and I hope my craftsmanship will reflect this.

WHAT MY FUTURE HOLDS. While Indigo Knots started off as a solo adventure into the world of macramé, I eventually want to open it up to collaborate with other artists and to expand into other fiber art forms, like weaving, and possible other mediums all together. I would also like to make this little shop more of a full-time job, but we will see where life takes us.

Thank you all for so much love and support of my little shop. It is important to me that each person loves their creation and has a wonderful experience with my shop. I am always available to you to answer your questions via Etsy chat.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

Yes, I love custom orders. I can tailor any design to your needs or create something that is new and uniquely yours. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or request.

Sizing details

Please read the descriptions for specifics on the size of each piece. I have them broken down into base width, Macramé height, and full height from the hanging point.

I can make a design in any size, but please not that this will change the price. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or request before ordering.

Gift wrapping and packaging

I now offer gift wrapping for all of my items. If you choose to add gift wrapping to your order, please add a note to your order and include some of the following details.

1. What kind of wrapping are you looking for
- Birthday (boy or girl)
- Holiday (Christmas, Valentines, etc.)
- General (my base brown paper and a rope)
2. Name for who is the gift is for.
3. Name for who it is from.

Wholesale availability

While I do not have wholesale items at this time, please feel free to reach out to me to discuss which items you are looking for.

Care instructions

Upon receiving your item, please carefully unwrap it.

All my pieces come ready to hang. I will add a little note to each individual item if there are special hanging instructions.

Once it is hung, please use your fingers to straighten out any fringe your piece has.

Returns, Exchanges and Cancellations

I take pride in offering good customer service. But my policy is NO CANCELLATION AFTER 24 HOURS AND NO RETURNS. 24 hours after your order, you can exchange your item for: something of similar value, a new custom piece, or store credit.

Macramé is a primary source of income for me. I plan out bills around the orders and payments I get. Typically, funds are allocated for use after 24 hours. Allowing cancellations or returns doesn't' allow me to use the funds when I need them or will force other payment issues. In addition, If I break my policies, it will be harder to defend them in the future.

Thank you for your understanding. Let me know if you have any questions. I‘m will try my best to make sure you get something you will love.
