About

I am Kestrel Montes, font enthusiast and calligraphy lover.

I started making traditional rubber stamps with my husband through our laser engraving business, EngraveMeThis. They were nice, but the detail we could produce was limited by the thickness needed to maintain the structure of the rubber. After about a year, we discovered a different stamp-making technology using a micro-porous material instead of rubber. Our designs can now incorporate much finer lines and crisper details. This is so exciting!!

We are incredibly grateful for the interest that has been shown in what we create. We think we are really just a husband and wife having too much fun making stuff. We're so glad you think we are much more.

Cheers!!

Frequently asked questions

Stamp personalization

Every stamp is custom made according to the text provided on the order notes. The requested information will be formatted with the font, casing and layout shown in the listing photos. If you would like any changes (i.e., different capitalization), please make special note of that on your order. We are always happy to adjust designs to create the stamp you have envisioned! Please note that if no other name/address is provided for the stamp, the shipping information will be used.

Proof review process

If you request a free proof on your order, it will be sent through the Etsy messaging system. Proofs are normally made within 24 hours (except on the weekends). We are more than happy to make changes to the layout, wording, or even switch to a different listing design option.

After delivery of the proof, you will have 2 business days to inform us of change requests. If we do not hear from you, we will proceed with your order as shown in the proof based on your order instructions and the purchased design. If you need more time to decide, please just let us know.

You can turn on email notifications in your Etsy account settings if you are concerned about missing the message.

Stamping Tips

The biggest factor that will change the look of your stamp is the paper being used. To test the imprint quality of your stamp, use it on plain printer paper.

Glossy, metallic, or coated papers: The ink sits on the surface of these papers and will take longer to dry. Too much pressure will make the ink smoosh out (very technical term) while you press down. For a cleaner imprint, apply less pressure.

Fibrous, textured or artisan paper: If the paper is looser weave, the ink will be able to bleed between the fibers. For a cleaner imprint, stamp a plain piece of paper a few times before stamping on your project paper. This will get some of the ink off the stamp and reduce the paper bleed.

Damaged During Shipping

While we have had a very positive relationship with USPS, every once in a while a package seems to be handled quite brutally. If your order arrives damaged, please simply send us a photo of the item and the packaging within 5 days of the tracking delivery date.

About White Ink

The white ink used in our stamps is permanent. As an added bonus, it will dry on non-porous surfaces such as glass, plastic, glossy papers, etc. However, for the same reason, you should take extra care not to leave the stamp open for extended periods of time (it has a cap/lid). If left uncapped, the ink on the surface of the stamp will dry and seal the stamp blocking further ink from coming through. You can clean it with rubbing alcohol. White ink creates an awesome look, but it is a little more temperamental than colored/black inks.
