***HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT***

Innerspiral will no longer be taking custom orders.

I just can't. I've tried so hard, against the odds, to keep taking orders as I have done since the studio began in 2010.... but everything is so different now. With a spirited toddler, nothing is certain, everything is wild!

And time.... time to 'work', to create, is elusive. Over the last two years, every single person on my list has waited and waited so patiently while I struggled to keep orders even vaguely on time. And I haven't been able to create a single thing that I have dreamed up because every single minute spare is dedicated to the orders from the studio. I've gone from being able to work 40+ hours a week to 6 hours a week, and that has been so challenging. The flow of working and creating is so completely different. I can't just drop things and pick them up later. I have to get back into it, find time for it, around sleepness nights and childminder trips, social life and just day to day existing... This sounds like a sob story! It isn't, it really isn't. Life is so magical. But it's too full to continue taking orders where people are relying on me to create a hat for an occasion on time.

So this is it. Far from closing the studio, I am giving it space to breathe and to grow again in the direction that flows from this decision, There are huge changes on the horizon, hopefully a change of studio location, a public space for workshops, and much more...

I will now create only the hats - and lots more besides - that come to life in my imagination. I will put them up in my shop and see when and where the winds will carry them. Maybe some beautiful synchronicity will start to occur.

One day I hope to open the shop to custom orders again, but I can't say when that will be. I am SO full of gratitude to each and every single person that has supported the studio and purchased a custom piece. Each one is a journey all of it's own, each one a work unique, and there is something very special about a piece made especially for you, I know that. I have honestly loved creating each piece. I can only hope that the hats and other new pieces I will make now, will call to the right new homes, and the studio will flourish in new ways by finding new creative paths to explore.

Thank you for your support and your love! It fuels the studio more than you can know :) I have three more hats left on my books so I will of course be sharing these creations soon with you all.

Here's to new adventures and much more mad hattery to come!

About Innerspiral

Sales 428
On Etsy since 2010

A one woman rainbow creation station

Innerspiral is an independent studio based in Somerset, UK run by Zara Ellis.

My life is my art and my art is my life... A self taught maverick out on a limb, I am a feltmaker, art yarn spinner, crochet fiend, hoopdancer, fire spinner, musician and an elf!

ARtWeAR is my unique brand of fibre art hats, clothing and accessories. Designed and created from scratch using hand felting, hand spinning and freeform crochet techniques. Much of the process involved in my work has been dreamed up, evolved and perfected over many years.

My ethos is to make everything of as exceptional beauty and outstanding quality as I possibly can. To never stop evolving. To use only natural fibres, almost exclusively wool (except for the occasional liberal sprinkle of sparkle, of course)

I sometimes sell live at events in the UK. Check our website to find out details www.innerspirals.com

You can find galleries of photographs and much splendiforousness by liking my Facebook page - facebook.com/innerspiral

Welcome to Innerspiral! We are a micro fibre art studio - there's just the two of us, and we make everything in our shop by hand in our home studio in a cottage in Somerset, UK. Working with the arts of hand spinning, indie dying, hand felting & crochet. We like to think we fuse traditional methods with our own innovative approach.
