Clip Earrings! You don't see them in store, but due to customer requests, they are now available. I can work with you to convert any jewelry design from pierced to clip--all you have to do is ask!

Insouciant Studios is a small jewelry and stone carving company dedicated to pure original designs inspired by nature. I spend a great portion of my time outside in the fresh air--gardening in the dirt, hiking through the woods, along a beach, across the desert, or up a mountain, digging for fossils, basking in the light of the sun, moon, and stars, and gathering inspiration at every turn. I am inspired by colors, textures, shapes, shadows, silhouettes, and sometimes even smells. I then turn those experiences into jewelry that is easy to wear and easy to love--jewelry that transitions from day to night, that is special enough for a big event, but not so precious that it must be locked away and never worn. Recently, I have been particularly moved by thoughts and experiences of the ocean, including trips to Monterey, CA and their phenomenal aquarium. Expect to see a strong ocean influence in my work for a while.

Woolpops is the fiber arts division of the business- where I interpret the colors and textures of my time outside (and my time spent with fiber animals) in the forms of prepared fibers, handspun yarn, hand knit items, and thoughtfully crafted spinning and knitting supplies so that you can do the same.

I've been asked recently what a Woolpop is--so I thought I would explain. A woolpop is wool with color that pops. Initially, it referred to handspun yarn that had been wound off onto a nostpinne--which looks kind of like a fiber lollipop. So there you have it.
