Welcome to Inspired Stitches. We hope you will enjoy your shopping experience. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist you. We are confident your loved ones will treasure the gifts you choose for them.
Inspired Stitches is a small, family-owned embroidery business. Steve and Nancy Jensen were high school sweethearts and married at a young age compared to today's custom of waiting a few extra years to tie the knot. Soon afterward they started a family and raised two son's both of whom they are extremely proud. Both sons are now married and living nearby raising families of their own. We are the proud grandparents of three exceptional grandchildren.
Steve and Nancy have always enjoyed being entrepreneurs and have always been compatible working together. Steve had a successful career as a contractor and Nancy was always by his side managing the office and working with customers.
Our journey with an online business started in 2011 as a result of the downturn in the economy. Not ready to retire, we discussed what we could do that would provide an income yet be a departure from our traditional work. As mentioned earlier we had always owned our own business and had always worked together, so we felt we could make something new and different work for us.
I have always enjoyed crafting, so my mind naturally wondered in that direction when considering our future. Never having done embroidery, I was anxious to give it a try. Being people of faith, we prayed for guidance. It soon became clear that this was the direction we were to go in.
We began by making complimentary wedding handkerchiefs for relatives and friends weddings. We were overwhelmed by the response to the handkerchiefs and decided to go in that direction. We worked very hard and perfected our skills and expanded our inventory of listings and soon our business began to grow. Each of our job descriptions soon came into focus and my responsibilities include communicating with brides as well as designing the wedding handkerchiefs. Steve is the technical person that operates the embroidery machines and has become quite skilled at keeping all the machines running at once all day long.
Our style is to allow brides to choose not only their own sentiments but a design as well if they want one. They can choose one of our stock designs or they can request something that would be more meaningful to them and their family member.
The feedback and comments we receive from our customers is very overwhelming and fills our hearts with joy to know the pleasure our work brings. To think that many of these handkerchiefs created by Inspired Stitches will still be here and appreciated long after we are gone is a very humbling thought.
