What happens when you have no TV
I learnt to knit when I was about 12 or 13. It was something I dabbled with for a while then completely forgot about. That was until I found myself living in a tiny little mountain village in Northern Spain with winter looming and no TV.
Wanting to fill in my evenings, from the time it got dark until it was an acceptable time to go to bed, I decided to pick up the needles and give knitting another go.
After a search around Youtube, to refresh my memory on the basic techniques, and a trip to the haberdashery store in a nearby town my knitting hobby was underway for a second time.
In those first few months I created a number of scarves and jumpers for my hubby and I before moving onto items for friends and family. As I got such a positive response from the recipients of my knitting I decided to set myself up on Etsy to share my creations with the wider world.
My store has been open since September 2010 and in that time I have relocated back to Sydney, Australian and become a mum for the first time.
My shop was closed for a large part of 2011 and when I reopened in early 2012 I decided to limit what I create and sell to a few items that I have (in the most part) designed myself. Focusing on a select few designs has allowed me to tweak my ideas to ensure my customers are getting the best possible product I can offer.
I love knowing that what I have created is going to be part of someone's wardrobe which is why I take my time to ensure everything that leaves my store is just right.
I truly hope that my pieces are loved by others as much as they are loved by me.
