Welcome to Into the Woods Pottery! My pottery is inspired by my love of nature. My decorative vases, covered jars, plates and tiles incorporate the colors and scenery of the natural world. My inspiration also comes from the pottery of the Arts & Crafts movement of the early 1900's, which emphasized handmade and simply designed pieces.
My process begins by throwing each piece on a potter's wheel. Depending on the piece, I may carve, incise or hand sculpt pieces of clay which I add to the surface to create a unique design. Each piece of stoneware is then glazed and fired to 2300 degrees. All of my pottery is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.
