About

A tale of threads and sparkly things

A life long love of needlework of all kinds and a life long love of jewelry combined in 2009, and The Invincible Spoon was born. At first offering plus-size strung jewelry items for plus-size folks like me under the name Whimsy Beading, once I discovered off-loom beadweaving, I never looked back. It started simply, by learning the peyote beadweaving stitch, and exploded once I taught myself the spiral rope pattern from a Laura McCabe book. Since then I've expanded to netting stitches and developing my own patterns as well as making use of the fabulous patterns available from other beadweavers around the world - with their permission,of course!

Nowadays you'll usually find me at my beading table when I'm not working my full time job, and I'll probably be watching Doctor Who, Top Gear, or any one of the many superhero shows available (except for Iron Fist, which, ehhhhhhh), though I have been known to get a little crazy and fire up a nice musical from time to time.
