I love Simmons Jewelry! Simple, gorgeous, Art Deco style - high quality materials... great for holiday giving!

Vintage Jewelry with Modern Appeal

I love vintage jewelry that is shiny, colorful and in new (or almost new) condition. Vintage pieces ooze glamor and show the world a bit of your unique style. When it comes to weddings and special occasions, vintage offers great design and a whiff of high fashion - often at a much better price than you can get at the mall.

What do I avoid like the plague? Dusty, dirty, chipped, peeling, smelly, sticky, kinked, corroded, discolored pieces that are missing stones or other parts that are supposed to be there. I am a studious avoider of flimsy or cheap looking pieces. The jewelry that I offer does not look or smell likes it's been sitting in someone's basement since 1962. If I find an item that I love that has a condition issue (such as a gorgeous ballerina brooch that's currently in my shop but has some chipping on her back) I am very clear about that in my listing. As Holiday Inn used to advertise - the best surprise is no surprise.

I like to keep a wide variety of makers and styles in my shop, but if I had to name my top 5 favorite categories of vintage jewelry, they would be (in no particular order):

1. Lisner!! This brand was popular in the 50s and 60s and was known for it's pieces embellished with jelly lucite - which is translucent and has a luminous glow. These are colorful, cheerful pieces set with flowers, leaves and rhinestones.

2. R.F. Simmons - This company, founded in the early 1900s in Attleboro MA focused on high quality jewelry made from either gold filled or sterling silver components and lovely unfoiled rhinestones. Many pieces available today still look brand new due to the quality of the stones and metal.

3. Figural brooches - You can find a brooch in almost any design, corresponding to almost any hobby, pet, accomplishment or interest. I even found one for my daughter the year that she didn't miss a day of school. It's a girl at a desk and says "Perfect Attendance".

4. Czech beads - I could go on for a long time about the glass making industry in what is now the Czech Republic (formerly Bohemia). This is the place and the industry that gave the Porsche family (yes, the car makers) their start. Farmers would use their down time during the winters to create colorful and unique glass beads that would be sold to traveling purchasers (the left over stalks and chaff from their crops were used to fuel the ovens). The beads were then incorporated into rosaries, the only jewelry that non-aristocrats were allowed to wear. This cottage industry eventually grew into the much bigger industry that now thrives in Gablonz.

5. Rhinestone pieces - Jewelry paved with colorful rhinestones was all the rage in the 50s and 60s and reminds us of the feminine glamor that used to be the ideal. It's not for everyday - but it's so fun for weddings and special occasions and, frankly, makes me think of the "Breakfast at Tiffany's" era. Sigh.

Looking for something that you don't see?? Let me know - I have literally hundreds of items that haven't been listed yet. I have a much easier time buying than I do listing :). Have a question about one of my listings? Convo me - I love to talk about the pieces I have for sale. Thanks for checking out my shop!

I live in sunny San Diego and I have a weakness for vintage jewelry. I also love jewelry making, drawing, sewing - you name it. Other than that, I enjoy the beach, an occasional margarita and the hummingbirds that hang out by my kitchen window.

Returns and exchange details
I want you to be really happy with your purchase. I am very picky about quality and don't offer anything for sale that I feel has a condition problem. Vintage jewelry, by its nature, has some degree of wear - but I try not to offer pieces that have noticeable flaws. If you receive something that has an unexpected issues with its condition, please contact me and we'll figure out the best way to fix the problem (return/refund, exchange, etc.).

What if you change your mind? I offer refunds for items returned and received by me within 14 days of purchase. Buyer pays for return shipping, with insurance and delivery confirmation. I will process a full refund upon receiving the item (assuming it is in the same condition as sent). Please contact me before returning an item so that I can be expecting it.

Please note - insuring and item is always the responsibility of the shipper. If you return an item, you must purchase insurance in case the item is damaged or lost during shipment back to me. Refunds are only issued upon receipt of an item in a condition identical to that in which the item was shipped, so please be sure to pack the item carefully.
I accept payment through PayPal and Direct checkout. Sorry, no checks or money orders . . . Tariffs, VAT, duties and any other taxes imposed on international shipments are *not* included in the price of the item.
SHIPPING DAYS: I ship on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (sometimes more often). Although I indicate that there is a handling time of 1-3 business days, I try very hard to ship on the first shipping day following the date of purchase (and occasionally same day, if the timing works).

I offer shipping by USPS 1st Class, Priority and Priority Express services. Customers can select shipping speed at checkout. Please note that all listings include a processing time - even in the event that expedited shipping is selected. My processing time (especially during holiday seasons) is usually short, but IF YOU REQUIRE SAME DAY OR NEXT DAY SHIPPING and that is faster than the processing time indicated, please get in touch prior to purchase so that I can confirm that I can ship on the schedule you need. All processing times are expressed in business days, so an item purchased on a Friday with 1 day processing may not go out until the following Monday.

If a customer supplies an address that cannot be verified by the USPS, I will contact the customer to clarify the address and I reserve the right not to ship until a verified address is supplied, regardless of the processing time indicated.

At times, and for certain items, I offer free shipping. When free shipping is offered, it only applies to the first time the item is shipped. If an item is returned and must be reshipped (and the error is not mine :), the customer will need to pay an additional fee for such reshipment.

Unless you request otherwise, I will not require that your package be signed for. If you do not want the package delivered unless your signature is received, please indicate so in the Notes to Seller box during checkout. There may be an extra fee for this service.

In the highly unlikely event that you receive an item that you feel is damaged, please contact me immediately and retain the packaging materials. I will arrange for these items to be shipped back to me at no cost to you.

All of my items are shipped outside the U.S. using 1st Class Package International Service. I purchase labels through Etsy, so a tracking number is provided, but the accuracy of the tracking information depends on the item(s) being scanned consistently.

Depending on the country, a signature requirement may be available for an additional fee. Please let me know before purchase if this is a service that you require and I will determine its availability and price.

VAT, Duties, Handling Charges - Items shipped outside of the US may incur VAT (value added tax) duties or handling charges imposed by the postal carrier in the recipient's country. These charges are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in the price that I charge. If you have questions about this matter, please contact your postal carrier.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Although I ship within 2 business days, delivery times to countries outside the US may be 2 weeks or more due to forces beyond my control. Delays at customs or in shipping are common (although I have had things make it to Europe in a little more than a week). The US Post Office does not consider a package lost until delivery time exceeds 45 days.
Additional policies and FAQs
All items have been held by me in a smoke free, pet free environment. I do not ship anything that I believe has an unpleasant "aroma", dust or dirt. If you are concerned, however, about a previous owners pets or smoking habits, I do not have that information, so please take that into account during purchase.

All items ship in the same condition as photographed. Photographed items usually have been gently cleaned (unless otherwise indicated). All items are pre-owned and may show slight wear - if you have any concerns about an item's condition, please ask questions before purchase.
