I've been telling stories in various ways for a long time. I have some training for some of my storytelling work, but it took a while for me to recognize that I've also been telling stories through artistic creations for almost as long as I've been writing or helping other people live their stories better.
When people began expressing wonder and appreciation at my illustrations, or recognizing that my found art (graced object) sculptures are a physical depiction of the care I give to people who feel forgotten or broken, I started realizing there was one avenue I had not yet fully shared with the world.
I appreciate the metaphor of pilgrimage--a faith-motivated journey toward God and true self--and the camel icon has accompanied me since 2003. It seemed only fitting, as I open this shop where I share with you the more visual expressions of my story-telling practice, that the camel be the icon here, too. The objects and images here are reflections of the journey I and others have been on, and imagining the camel as the bearer of them seems only fitting.
Have a look through the contents of the saddlebags. I hope you find something you love.
