Creating leather that meets my customers needs

I founded JANRIC with the idea that everyone enjoys hand crafted leather goods made with premium materials and built with individual attention to the details.

If you are interested in leather for the sportsman, please visit my other Etsy shop, JANRICLeather. I split my shop recently to make it easier to find the items which interest you. JANRICLeather can be seen at www.etsy.com/shop/JANRICLeather

I design, cut, tool, dye, and assemble each piece...with an eye towards meeting your needs. I am not, a "mass producer. " I typically create items after discussing the style, color, features and unique requirements with you. When time allows, I create items for my Etsy storefront. As I hand draw all my art and considering leather's natural variations that add personality, each piece is truly unique.

When I'm working with you, I will ask questions and exchange ideas to fully understand your needs. In many cases, you might like one of my existing designs and only wants it "personalized." In the event a new design is needed, I develop the design with you to ensure I've interpreted your needs properly.

When the design is finalized, I will give you a realistic estimate of when I will start the build and the expected production time. I can usually start working on your project within 3 weeks, but this will vary with the number of orders I have at any given time. Actual production times vary based on the complexity of the project. But, for most items, production time is around 2-3 days. For example; holster, belt and portfolio build time is normally 3 days for items with art work and 2 days if it doesn't require art work. This timeline is based on the various drying times between production steps.

The lead time for custom items normally gets a bit longer just before the holidays, as many folks like to order something unique for gifts. It is best to get your order in early to ensure delivery. However, if you have a requirement that needs to be completed by a certain day, I'll try to work it into the production schedule and do my best to get it to you by the date needed.

Please browse my current inventory in my Etsy storefront. If I have something you like, that's great! if you want something a little different, I am happy to work with you to provide what you with what you need. All you need to do is click he "Contact Shop Owner" or the "Request a Custom Order" link.

Frequently asked questions
How do I determine the right size for a custom belt?

Measuring a belt you already own is the best way to find your correct belt size. Here's how:
- Put the belt on and note which sizing hole you are using.
- Remove the belt and lay it on a flat surface.
- Measure the distance from the sizing hole that was most comfortable to the point where the buckle meets the leather.
- Round your measurement to the nearest inch. If you measure 35 1/2 inches, you will want to purchase a size 36 belt.

Are any two items exactly alike?

No. Each item is unique. I draw all my artwork freehand and each piece of leather has its own grains, wrinkles and coloration that make it unique. That is what makes leather so beautiful and special.

Can I guarantee a specific color?

Unfortunately, no. I can usually get close, but each piece of leather and each batch of dye will have its own characteristics. The best way to get the closest color match is to cut the items from the same piece of leather and use the same batch of dye.
