From Database Computing to Graphic Design -- It's all about logic and art
I started out on Etsy in 2011 selling Vintage. I love vintage and antiques and I REALLY love the hunt. I found myself drawn to Kitchenware, glass kitchenware . . . Pyrex, Depression Glass, English Ironstone, etc.. Shipping costs and breakage (no matter how well they were packed) finally got to be too stressful, so I had to close that shop.
I kept the actual store, but changed to name to JBsSewingGifts and stocked it with Sewing and Embroidery Items until the Pandemic Hit in early 2020. Then I started making masks and that went really well. Masks were hard to come by at the time and I enjoyed knowing that my customers were keeping themselves safe with my masks. I sewed masks until my carpel tunnel got the best of me and my sewing machine needed repair.
The 2020 Pandemic gave us all a chance for inner reflection and when I really thought about what I loved about sewing it was the design element. Finding a design that I loved or making it myself; searching for the color or texture of the fabric, learning a new technique, etc. My husband and I travel quite often and I can't take my sewing machine with me, so I started designing Digital products for direct download. I love it! I hope you find something that you like in my store - I really enjoyed the design process and learning new tools of the trade. I learned that I also enjoy all of the business elements that go with creating your own shop. I always wanted to explore my entrepreneurial side and this Etsy store gives me that opportunity.
