The notebook was a perfect gift for my boyfriend! He absolutely loved the personalisation, and the seller made it so easy to make any tweaks. Would definitely buy again, perhaps even something for myself!

About

One small step to fulfilling a childhood dream...

As a child I used to dream about owning my own car company and building cars that had my name on the badge. The sketches I did (I still have the sketchbook!) were the best thing in the world to me and I would spend days trying to perfect every detail... a ten year old's perception of detail nonetheless.

Then came high/secondary school, where I learnt to my disdain that filling the back of my planner with car sketches "wasn't cool", after which my talents were snubbed, even by the teachers who said my planners should be filled with homework, not "doodles". Even when showing off my talents on piano in the music rooms I was told to stop playing as I couldn't play the popular music everyone knew... "I'll show them" I thought...

In the closing months of high school, my Grandad passed away. A bewilderingly creative inventor who shared a passion like no other for all things mechanical, musical and electrical... Gone.

Having inherited several tools and gizmo's and what felt like a new lease of life, I felt I had to get creative.
HTC Highfield's will only mean something to a handful of people but, for me, this is where it all began. I'd left school to do a Btec in 3D Design in a completely different environment. I soon realised, nobody knew me. I could be whoever I wanted.

This course and the subsequent jump to Transport Design at Staffs University were where I learnt my digital skills. At the start of uni I bought a classic mini to restore, which opened up contacts and possibilities in the manual labour and fabrication side of things. To top things off, during college I had bought a Korg synthesizer which opened up yet another new venture. By the time I had learnt my way round its complex systems, music was being created left right and centre. The JDStone solo project was born.

These three openings into completely new worlds changed everything for me. They were what I needed to learn the skills I so wish I'd had time to learn from my grandad to try go it alone.

As soon as I found out about Etsy, I jumped at the chance to sell on here. The products in this shop will always be wide and varied as my cravings to create are wild and endless. As well as making things for people to love and enjoy, I hope I'm making somebody out there proud...
