Announcement   Welcome to my current selection of unique jewelry, handcrafted one at a time with my own original designs in solid Sterling, Argentium, and Fine Silver, along with natural gemstones and genuine Swarovski crystals. Note that each design image comes in several sizes, not all pieces with the same design are the same size. (please read description for dimensions.) If you're looking for artisan jewelry that you can wear every day, you've come to the right place. Perfect for the nature enthusiast or horse lover. Treat yourself, or buy a one-of-a-kind gift for someone special!

All pieces are designed and created by me, right here in Arizona at my home studio, bringing together my passions for art and nature's beauty. Thank you for directly supporting an artist and her family! I create my jewelry using recycled/reclaimed .999 Fine Silver (with Sterling or Argentium Silver components) and precious or semi-precious gemstone beads with a minimum of treatment (stone beads are natural, occasionally heat-treated for color, or coated/stabilized as certain stones require, but I try to avoid dyed or irradiated stones), and genuine Swarovski crystals and cubic zirconia. The traditional Swedish Dala horse is the only design I can't claim as strictly mine, otherwise all designs are copyrighted by me.

Unless noted otherwise, items are ready to ship and you get the exact item shown in the photos. See Shop Policies for more info on jewelry sizing, materials, returns, shipping, etc. If you have any questions, please contact me!

PAYMENT: I accept Etsy's Direct Checkout, PayPal, and Etsy Gift Cards.

WHY THE NAME CHANGE? This shop was originally named "JKistlerStudios". I have decided to sell all my jewelry, both my original silver designs (this shop) and my minimalist gemstone jewelry (my other shop), under the name Granite Mountain Gems.

Received this beautifyl necklace today. Exceeds expectations. I have been to Equine affaire for 3 years. Massive amounts of vendors but nothing as pretty as this necklace.

This is my second purchase from Jennifer's shop and the second time that I've been so very happy. Her talent as an artist and the beautiful work that she creates is rivaled only by her friendliness that is displayed in her handwritten thank-you notes. You can see just how much she cares about her art and her customers - and both are very much appreciated. Highly recommend!!

About

unique nature-inspired jewelry designs

"Nature is the art of God", as Dante Alighieri said, which sums up the inspiration for much of my work. I want to give you an option for jewelry that is both unique and wearable, and celebrates the beauty of nature. I'm always looking for ways to capture this awesome beauty so we can continually enjoy it. My jewelry allows you to artfully share your favorite nature theme, as well as tastefully accenting your own personal beauty. I design my pieces to be comfortable and versatile, and hope you will enjoy them for a long time.

Making jewelry started from two different angles. First, I thought it would be great to make jewelry with my own horse designs. That idea sat in the back of my mind for many years. In the meantime, I was drawn to the amazing gemstone beads I saw in a catalog, and learned to make jewelry with them, starting off with pieces for myself and gifts for family. Eventually I decided to take a class to learn how to use metal clay to create jewelry components with my own designs, and here I am!

I love the process of designing a piece, from creating components with my own designs, to choosing special beads that complement. And as a bit of a perfectionist, good craftsmanship is always important to me! Finding gorgeous stone beads is an obsession of its own. I especially love going to bead stores on trips, and finding something special. Later, I have fun thinking about where I bought them when I use them in a piece.

I design and create all jewelry myself, in my home studio. I primarily work with .999 Fine Silver, and I am branching out into bronze and copper jewelry as well.

All items from a smoke-free, pet-free (except for fish!) studio . Metal clay is eco-friendly because it is made from recycled/reclaimed metals.

A little background about my art and inspirations:

I grew up in a rural area outside Astoria, Oregon, along the Columbia River. I was spoiled with fabulous views of sunsets over the river (when it wasn't too cloudy). For three summers, my mom and I were my dad's deckhands on his 46-foot salmon troller in Southeast Alaska (not to be confused with trawling). There I was spoiled with even more of nature's rugged beauty, and also developed a healthy respect for its raw power (along with a taste for the most delicious fresh salmon and halibut!).

Ever since I knew what horses were, I adored them. I learned to groom and ride a friend's pony, and as an adult, I have owned a few horses and grown passionate about the beautiful discipline of classical dressage.

As a kid, I was always drawing (mainly horses!), and trying different crafts. In high school and college I tried many types of art making. I have experience with hand lettering, black and white film photography, graphic design, pottery, and my favorites are painting and sculpting.

I hope you find something to delight you! Thanks for stopping by!

Additional policies and FAQs
BRACELET SIZING: Use a string or flexible measuring tape around your wrist at the wrist bone, add about 1/2 inch for comfort, and that's the size you should buy. I use a bracelet sizing system that doesn't simply measure the length, but takes into account the bulk of the beads, so you don't have to worry!

NECKLACE SIZING: Similar to the bracelet sizing, I use a system that takes into account the bulk of the beads. The length end-to-end may be different, but it's the actual fit that matters! Measure the stated fit size around your neck with a thin chain, string, or cord, and that's about where the necklace will fit on you.

JEWELRY ALTERATIONS: Please measure for jewelry and check the item description before buying (see information above). Many items (especially beaded pieces) are not alterable to a different size, unless noted in description. If you see something you like but need a different size, please contact me about the possibility of a custom piece! Earwires can often be replaced with a different style or different metal if required. Please inquire before buying (some designs may not lend themselves to different findings). Note that some alterations may involve additional charge (such as upgrading to gold ear posts) and take 1-2 weeks to complete, and alterations will not be started until agreed total payment is made.

JEWELRY MATERIALS and CARE: I often use natural stone beads, because I love them! I choose quality beads, and discard the unsuitable ones. However, please do not expect them to be absolutely perfect, beads made from stone are often not, even at what is considered a high level of quality. Also note that beads can break if dropped or banged on a hard surface, and they shouldn't be displayed long-term in direct sunlight. Many stone beads should be gently handwashed in lukewarm water with mild soap only (no chemicals, cleaning machines, etc.) Pearls can be damaged by hairspray, perfume, etc. (put them on after applying these products, not before). Jewelry is not recommended to be worn while swimming or bathing. I use top quality 49 strand coated wire for stringing beads, in a thickness suitable for the piece. It is durable and flexible. All jewelry items are brand new, unworn, and made with all new components unless stated otherwise (such as re-using vintage beads). I do my best to accurately represent the gemstones, and try to buy from reputable sellers, especially when buying high-value stones that are easy to imitate or misrepresent. Any error regarding material used is unintentional.

REPAIRS: I strive to create top quality jewelry that will hold up well to normal wear. However, if a piece suffers damage, please contact me! Many basic repairs are free (except for shipping both ways), more extensive repairs will require a fee due to amount of time and/or materials needed. At this time I repair my own work only.
