I love making intimate pieces that let people engage with nature in a joyful way.

For many years I have made pictures - my art is a riff on traditional Japanese keiran-nuri, or eggshell lacquer, and my palette combines an array of beautiful seashells and birds’ eggshells I've collected from around the world, as well as precious gold and palladium leaf. Collectors often told me my larger images seem like jewelry on their walls and I loved the idea of creating diminutive framed images to wear. Jewelry is an exciting way for me to share the beauty I see in an intimate, accessible way! Many of my pieces are made within glass lockets, so you can turn (and wear) the piece reversed, and see the evolution of the gilding and the beautiful shades of the shells undersides. All materials are responsibly sourced. Each piece is a miniature, private journey, your own talisman to carry with you or bestow on another.

I am happy to create a custom order for you - you may have an idea, theme, or even a special shell you wish to use. Please contact me to help design something just for you, and please plan to allow about 6 weeks for the piece to be made once the basics have been agreed on. I hope my images inspire meditation and joy as your eye journeys through these tiny landscapes.

I have a deep love of the natural world. I walk terrains from mountains to seaside, observing interacting living and inanimate forms. My pieces use seashells and birds’ eggshells, and precious gold and palladium leaf. Each is a miniature journey.
