This really is a great story!

OK...Most of you know me from my 12+ years selling gemstone beads as Rock Candy Beads. THAT all started with a trip to the casino for my 37th birthday when I won $300 out of a slot machine! I used that money to buy my very first lot of gemstone beads which were sold on ebay (I was on ebay for several years). From there I came to etsy where it just got crazy and next thing I know, 10 years went by.

So .....during this time I discovered a passion for ceramics, which includes glass and clay. I am a lampwork bead artist as well as a raku ceramics artist. I've always loved raku and am fascinated with the process. From the minute I started selling my raku components at shows and local stores, everything just came together. I'm able to use all of the skills that I've learned over the years combined together into this one incredible art form. I cannot express enough about the joy I get from creating and firing these beautiful one of a kind raku pieces! So...I gave up the gemstone bead and lampwork bead business to pursue raku full time.

Throughout my years in this industry I've had the pleasure of working with some of the best, most talented makers and jewelry designers. I've seen a lot, learned a lot, and adapted all of this into my own personal style which is reflected in the raku components and jewelry line that make Urban Raku what it is today.

I've been blessed to have opportunities all over the United States selling my art at juried art shows as well as bead and jewelry shows.

Fast forward to 2023 - I've decided to go on a fiber adventure and have been knitting the most beautiful beanies using hand dyed merino wool and lux poms. I'm yarn and pattern obsessed! Am planning to transition from clay to fiber but for now am doing both!
