Welcome! I have been inspired by many things, and many people. To cut and shape stone I use traditional techniques and hand work each and every piece. As a natural material some of the character may reside in what are technically considered "flaws." Color, fractures and such. To me it is the character of the stones that tell a story. At it's base the story was written by the planet, using the language of the universe.

As I look for these various chapters, verses and short stories using lapidary arts it is my hope that you will see the patterns, hear the stories and decide for yourself their meaning for you, your own craft and enjoyment.

I will describe each stone and its treatment as completely as I can. I aspire to use only natural materials obtained myself or from knowledgeable sources I can trust.

Payment
I only accept PayPal at this time. Taxes will be charged as required by law (at this time, meaning in the State of Michigan) and are the responsibility of the purchaser. I expect payment as soon as possible after a commitment to purchase unless prior arrangements are made. After 3 days any unpaid purchase will be cancelled.
Shipping
All purchases will be shipped via usps first class. International first class will be used for international shipments. All taxes, duties and fees are the responsibility of the purchaser. Insurance is not available unless requested for an additional charge and you must notify me of that wish before purchase so that I can send a revised invoice reflecting any additional fees.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you receive your stone(s) and are unhappy with them for any reason within 7 days please let me know and send it (them) back to me. As long as the stone reaches me in the same condition it was sent I will give you a refund for the total purchase price (not including shipping).

If you break or damage the stone, please contact me. If there was a fracture or defect not revealed I may be willing to refund all or part of your purchase. Some stones are very delicate (like opals and opalized material) and at some point the responsibility for care and feeding of these goodies shifts from me to you. But contact me if you have any problems and we'll try to understand what happened and if I can help.

A Note On Small Cabochons:

Good things come in small packages and many designs require smaller scale stones. The first thing to remember when purchasing one of my smaller format hand cut and polished cabochons is that they require the same, or often more labor than a larger cab. Also, the material must be carefully selected since when the stone is scaled down, the patterns must be chosen that compliment the smaller format. Also, each of my stones is hand selected, hand cut. One at a time. This means they will respond best to individualized treatment. They are not “calibrated” stones.

In the end, the cost of a small cabochon may be close to, equal to, or even a bit more than a larger one of similar material.

Many smaller cabochons commercially available are machine cut. For many stones this is satisfactory, especially if they are relatively homogenous material. You can expect me to cut highly patterned stones, or valuable materials rather than standard rough for which quality commercial supplies may exist.

I really love small stones. They fit most of my jewelry designs. So, if you are prepared to receive a small package (at what I consider a fair but not insignificant price) I hope you will be thrilled with your small stone from me and as always if you are not simply return it to me within 7 days for a refund (see store return policies).
