I started a photography business by accident several years ago. Really. It all started with a wrong phone number.

You see, people kept calling our house and asking for the architect who used to have the number. Or just faxing plans over. Remember that annoying bEEEEEp? After a while, I decided to look him up so I could just give people his new number and maybe, eventually, they would stop calling my house.

Turns out the guy was dead. Which, having some latent naughtiness in me among all the overwhelming nice, made me start telling the callers that.

"Oh," they would falter awkwardly. "Um, I'm sorry." I would let them know he died a few years back and I didn't know him anyway, and please have a nice day. And hang up.

What does this have to do with a photography business? Well, people were getting his number by Googling it. So I tried searching for just the phone number and found it on multiple directories. Interestingly, it's hard to remove a number from these. It's much easier to change it. So that's what I did.

I claimed the listings and changed the information. I also changed the number, since I didn't want to advertise my home phone. I linked them all to my mobile and then put the business as my photography business. Which started right then.

You might further be wondering what that has to do with my current Esty shop, which as you see, is selling printables. I started this shop to sell stock photos in 2014, but in 2021, I decided to list some printables that I had developed for myself and found helpful or inspiring.
