About JakeWilsonWoodworks

On Etsy since 2017

My shop produces custom wood works that range from bars, tables and desks to decorative shelving, home décor and select creative customer designs.

Growing up in western Washington, the forest always played an integral part in shaping my life. In the early years of my hometown, Port Angeles, the city was a prosperous and booming logging town which was central to much of the state’s wood commerce. This history and its people, all throughout my childhood, instilled a sense of love and appreciation for the Pacific Northwest and its resources.

My dad comes from a long family line of loggers and at one time he even worked at the local pulp mill on the waterfront. But when the mill closed in 1997, dad decided to take a cabinetry course to maintain his interest in wood works and then built a wood shop in the back of our home. About that same time, I enrolled in woodworking classes at high school and realized I too had found a passion for all things wood working as well.

Dad and I shared our shop until I left for woodworking school in Seattle where I was able to hone my wood working craft expertise. After that, for a time, I worked in a cabinet shop in Kent, but soon found myself longing to return to the serenity of the Olympic Peninsula. The beauty of the mountains, streams and forests pulled me back to Port Angeles. When I came back I took over the shop that dad had built many years ago.

Today, the shop produces custom wood works that range from bars, tables and desks to decorative shelving, home décor and select creative customer designs. I work and support local businesses and strive for quality and sustainability in all work products.

You are invited to visit our web site including the events calendar and products catalogue. Also feel free to contact me with any product or design questions under our contact page.

When I'm not spending my time in the shop, you might find me exploring a stream with my dog, Bliss, or snowboarding on our favorite local mountain Hurricane Ridge.

Happy Woodworking!

Jake
