About JanHurdArt

Sales 14
On Etsy since 2012

This is fun.

I've always been an artist, but for years I made three-dimensional, non-functional ceramic art instead of the paintings and drawings in Opticnerv. I could sell my clay pieces all across the country through American Craft Council wholesale shows, but when it comes to two-dimensional work, it's a different story. I've sold paintings and prints in gallery shows, in invitational botanical exhibits, and in a co-op gallery, but there's always that commission to pay. When someone suggested I try ETSY I went for it right away. I not only love to make art, I love the wonderful way Adobe Creative Suite allows me to work with my site which will always be changing. I'm new at this, this is my second week, November of 2012, and there is so much to learn about this process. Another adventure.

I could always draw things the way they are but didn't value this skill until about 10 years ago when I retired from a successful career as a ceramic artist. So I'm now a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators and can't stop drawing. Many of the paintings shown here have been sold but prints exist!

Welcome to JanHurdArt!
I'm pleased to be able to show my work to so many people through ETSY. We artists usually work in isolation except for occasional forays into the world of business, and I think this way of reaching the public suits my reclusive nature.

Accepted payment methods

Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Payment
Payment to JanHurdArt is through the ETSY payment system, keeping it simple for all.
Shipping
I can usually ship within a couple of days unless I'm off somewhere for a couple of weeks. I'll ship with the Postal Service unless the buyer requests something different and is willing to pay the cost. The buyer can request insurance if they wish to pay extra for that, too.
Additional policies and FAQs
I have set a 4 card minimum for purchasing my cards to justify the cost, time, packaging, and environmental consequences of shipping a lot of little things.
