About

Need a bead?

I was a fiber artist who wanted unusual beads for my work. I dabbled in polymer clay but just couldn't get the look I wanted, the opportunity to try glass came up and I have never looked back. Of course, I never did make the beads for my fiber arts, in fact I haven't played with the fiber in awhile. I still fondle the fabric every once in awhile and get the itch to play but I have no room in my studio.

When I opened my Etsy shop I called it "A Fiber Journey" never imagining that I would move into glass. When Etsy changed their programming and I was allowed to change the name of my shop I changed it to JanZart, figuring I could sell any of my artistic endeavors. So far that is only glass but you just never know. I may get some of my fiber art pieces finished and list them.

Until then, enjoy the glass, poke around and see if you can find something you like. If there is a style that you like but would prefer it in another base color be sure to let me know. I have glass in almost every color you could imagine.

I live in central Georgia so the weather can affect when I can torch. In the winter it can be too cold and equally hot in the summer. My torch is in our unfinished basement so I have to open the windows for airflow. I'll get photos of my glass studio up soon so you can get an idea of where I work.

Thanks for reading...

I have been working with glass for about 10 years. Glass is so elusive, it can not be touched or felt with the hand. It must be manipulated and tricked into new shapes with many tools.

Hi there, I'm so glad you stopped by to check out my glass art beads. Melting glass is intoxicating, taking something that starts out as a solid and turning it into a liquid to form it into art is something that I never thought I would get to try. Now that I have been doing it for three years I can't imagine ever doing anything else.
My shop name "AFiberJourny" was named for my love of fabric and fiber arts, I never imagined that the journey would bring me here. Enjoy the journey, it's what we are here for.
