Beautiful Maternity gowns for maternity photography

J & L Designs started up when my sister in law, Desiree, came to visit while we were stationed in North Carolina at Fort Bragg. Desiree is a photographer over and fellow military spouse at Candids and Colors Photography. She has a great following and when one of her fans heard that Desiree was going to be in town, her fan asked if there was any time to squeeze in a maternity photo shoot. The only problem with this, was that Desiree did not travel with her gowns. I did what I could to help her out an put one together for her. It was terrible and not at all what I do now. But it was fun and I loved seeing how beautiful and happy the Momma to be was while wearing the dress I made.
That was when I decided to look into properly making maternity gowns for photography.
Luckily Chelsea from Chelsea Celeste Designs was looking for an apprentice to pass along her knowledge of Maternity dress making. I jumped at the chance, and here I am today. Making my regular collection and couture pieces intermittently. I love my job. I love looking at photos of my gowns on beautifully empowered women. Women who are embracing the power of creating a new life. It's magic.
I am always working on new designs and playing with vintage patterns.

TIMELINE
WE WILL HAPPILY ACCEPT ITEMS FOR EXCHANGE UP TO 14 DAYS AFTER THEY ARE DELIVERED TO YOU. ANY ITEMS RECEIVED AFTER THE 14 DAY EXCHANGE POLICY PERIOD WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR EXCHANGE. THEY WILL BE RETURNED TO SENDER AND NO STORE CREDIT OR EXCHANGES WILL BE ISSUED. OUR 14 DAY POLICY IS FIRM AND NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
CONDITIONS
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL ITEMS MUST BE IN ORIGINAL CONDITION: UNWORN, UNDAMAGED, UNWASHED AND UNALTERED. ITEMS SHOULD BE FREE OF MARKS, MAKEUP, PERFUMES, DEODORANT, AND ANIMAL HAIR. ALL TAGS MUST REMAIN ATTACHED (IF APPLICABLE). IF AN ITEM IS INSPECTED AND DOES NOT MEET THESE CONDITIONS, WE WILL CONTACT YOU WITH YOUR OPTIONS. EXCHANGE ITEMS ARE READY TO SHIP 1 WEEK FROM DATE RECEIVED HERE.


Damages to package in shipping:
Sometimes packages are damaged in shipment. Please take photos of the package and the damages to the item so a claim may be filed with the shipping provider.

Problems with your order:
We must be notified within 3 days from receiving your order.

Shipping fees, rush orders and custom fees are not refundable.
Returns are not accepted if you change your mind after the order has shipped.

If the gown has been altered in any way outside of our standard pattern - i.e. cut to length, mixed color combinations, custom bust size (above a DD) custom alterations, etc. it is not exchangeable.


Return Shipping and shipping of exchange item is the customers responsibility
Payment
I accept all major credit cards and Paypal.

You can checkout with Paypal without having a Paypal account:

1) During checkout, select the Paypal option and select "checkout with paypal"
2) Instead of choosing to pay with your PayPal account, select the option to pay with a debit or credit card.
3) You'll then be prompted to fill in your billing and credit card information.
4) You'll need to enter your email address so PayPal can send you a receipt.
5) Click Continue to return to Etsy Checkout to review and submit your final order.

Your payment isn't sent until you click Submit Order on Etsy.

Your item(s) will be shipped only after full payment has been received. If you have paid by E-Check through Paypal I will wait until the payment clears before working on your order/shipping.
Shipping
LEAD TIME:
(when will I ship out your product once you purchase)
» 1-3 days for ready to ship items
» 2-4 weeks for most gowns
» 3-6 weeks for large items like capes, some gowns and tutus
» 3-4 weeks if purchasing 4 or more gowns


SHIPPING:
» Smaller orders (momma wraps and baby sets) are shipped First Class, 4-7 business days
» Larger orders (gowns and capes) are shipped Priority Mail, 3-4 business days



RUSH ORDERS:
» If you need your order in a rush, please send me a message on etsy before you make your purchase. I need to check our current schedule and see if it is possible to squeeze you in or if I have time to work overtime for you.


TRACKING YOUR PACKAGE:
» Once your item ships, you will receive an automatic email (the email you registered with on etsy) informing you of the tracking number.
» You can track your package on USPS.com
» if you have any problems or need my help with anything, feel free to reach out to me via etsy convo
» If your package has been already shipped and you need to change the address, unfortunately it is too late. Please contact USPS.com to see if you can intercept it



INTERNATIONAL
» Packages are shipped via the shipping label customer selects at checkout.
Priority can take 6-10 days
Priority Express can take 3-5 days.

» Not all International orders have Delivery Confirmation (Tracking); therefore, location/status of package cannot be tracked or delivery date of package cannot be estimated once it has left USA.
» Buyers are responsible for any duty/tax that is due upon receipt of the package. I cannot accept responsibility for international orders that are held up in customs. If you refuse to pay the custom fees and items are returned to me in good condition, your initial purchase price will be refunded minus shipping cost and 30% restocking fee.




SHIPPING ADDRESS
» Please make sure your Etsy address is up to date. If a package comes back to me due to an error on your part (inaccurate address, etc), I will send you an additional invoice to cover cost of re-shipment.
» If after purchase you realize your Etsy address is incorrect please contact USPS to see if you can intercept.

International custom fees are non refundable. Customs and VAT tax is paid by the customer and is not included in the price of shipping.

Sizing details

SIZING
Each Listing Details contains a size chart or a link to a size chart. Please refer to each listings size chart

Care instructions

Your garments can last a lifetime of taken care of. Hand washing is always best.

For satin, chiffon or jersey gowns, Wash in same colors on cold water on delicate cycle. Tumble dry low.
For gowns with lace, wash in same colors in cold water. Lay flat to dry.
For Faux fur items. Hand wash, roll in a towel and squeeze out excess water. Lay flat to dry. Use a wide comb to untangle fur.

Fur tulle, place in a garment bag and wash on delicate. Hang to dry and comb with fingers to de-tangle. To straighten tulle after shipping mist with water and hang to dry.
