Your story in one sentence.
I am Jane L Kakaley, quilter, quilt artist, textile artist, fiber artist. After spraining my foot forced me to be off my feet, I designed my first original quilt. That is when I discovered quilters and their wonderful world of friendliness, helpfulness and creativity. While searching for fabric for my quilt, I met the manager at The Loft in Issaquah, WA. She asked me when would the pattern for my quilt be available. A light bulb went off in my head! I would design quilt patterns! That quilt was entered into a contest at In The Beginning in Seattle, WA. It won first place in the contest, won me a trip to Quilt Festival in Houston, TX and was featured in their promotional materials that year. I went on to create a very successful quilt pattern business. I had patterns on the cover of Keepsake Quilting and Quilts and Other Comforts. Several of my quilts were featured in books by Joen Wolfrom. But as my boys got older, the need to travel got in the way of raising my boys. I put the business aside for a few years so that I was able to concentrate on my now two young men. Now I am back! I have had quilts accepted into local art exhibits! My Hyacinth Dreaming took First Place and Kenai Sockeye got an Honorable Mention in the La Conner 2012 International Juried and Judged Quilt Festival! Not only am I creating things that I am passionate about, but I am also creating things that YOU are passionate about!

Additional policies and FAQs
All art quilts, when framed, are done so WITHOUT glass. I do this because it allows the fabric to breathe. Art quilts are protected with a UV spray, but it is advised that they NOT be displayed in direct sunlight. An occasional vacuuming/dusting is all your art quilt should require.
