I am thrilled with the piece I bought from Jane. Her work is exquisite and it’s beautifully framed—every detail is perfect down to the wrapping and packing. Jane was lovely to work with and my delivery arrived on time.

Exquisite craftsmanship delivered well-wrapped and quickly. I have been looking at this piece often and feel peace with the concentric circles and calming colors and materials. A true elevation of the ordinary, buttons, to the extraordinary. I would recommend Jane's art to anyone wishing to enjoy excellent art for their lifetime.
At Ridgeway Elementary School the art teacher, Miss Broderick, invited me out of my homeroom to help paint a mural for the school. My talent was recognized early, and I blossomed whenever I had art materials in hand.
While teaching high school art in my early 20’s I learned the art of pysanky – batik eggs – and started a successful business, An Egg by Jane, that included an invitation to decorate eggs for the White House, a commission by Steve Jobs, and appearances on the Today Show. I closed that company in the early 2000’s and stopped working creatively until March, 2020, when I enrolled in a class taught by a friend and colleague: how to make penny rugs. The workshop occurred just days before New York City officially locked down for the COVID19 pandemic. Since then, I’ve produced an inventory of pillows and wall hangings for the discerning collector.
Today, I layer 100% woolen circles embellished with Perle cotton threads, recycled buttons, glass beads and baubles to create artful pillows and wall hangings. The vast combination of color, size and composition keep this simple art form fresh and invigorating. Simply changing the proportions of the circles, the hue of the border strands, or their juxtaposition, continues to challenge and intrigue me.
I’m inspired by the palettes of artists like Hilma af Klint and Agnes Martin. Textiles in a client’s interior spark ideas and designs for her custom piece. Even a visit to Etsy shopkeepers who specialize in selling felted wools floods me with inspiration and excitement.
I am joyful in the creation of beauty. Each step of the process, from fabric selection to the application of the last bugle bead, makes me want to pursue the next and the next. How blessed am I to have found a craft of infinite possibilities and satisfaction!
