About WELO OPAL
'Ethiopian Welo/Wello Opal is a relatively new find and rapidly gaining popularity. It has some of the most amazing patterns of any opal, and plays of color that reflect shades of light seen nowhere else in the natural world. Anybody who loves opals I would urge to give this gem a chance. It is easy to become mesmerized by its unique beauty. Because of the hydrophane property of this opal it can become crystal clear when saturated in water and as it dries it will turn completely opaque, and then slowly return to a crystal/ semi-crystal state as it completely dries out which can take anywhere from a few days to several months. Over that time you can watch the opal slowly reveal new patterns and plays of color every day, sometimes gaining colors, and sometimes colors change or fade away. Because opal is not one of the hardest stones, ( only six on scale of 10,) it is not recommended to be worn everyday, in the form of a ring, and NEVER put your hands in bleach or harsh detergent when wearing your ring.
Prospective buyers are responsible for determining the physical condition of items from the Highly Magnified Photos in the listing and the printed description. NO item will be authorized for return, if it has been damaged in any way, AFTER it has been in your possession. All items are inspected, and size verified, when listed and before they are sent out. So, please KNOW your Current ring size Before ordering. The 'wrong size,' is not a valid reason for a refund on Vintage items. I have a mandrel and I use it to verify size before listing any item. Any jewelry store will show you your finger size for free.

This shop does NO RESIZING, but most rings CAN be resized by your local jeweler, a silver smith or repair shop, and on Silver the price is usually nominal.
Natural, semi-precious, and precious gemstones, as well as Swarovski Crystals, are used to create many of the jewelry pieces you will find here. Unfortunately, the photography, does not always give a good representation of the shimmering colors, sparkle, and fire in the stones.
The clay sculptures, whether jewelry, dolls, or ornaments are unique, (OOAK,) one of a kind, pieces and cannot be exactly duplicated, nor will be, due to extensive time spent creating them. Nor can any hand crafted item be duplicated, Exactly. Each will have it's own little intricacies.
Many of my creations have been sold in Boutiques, Gift Shops and Art Galeries in New York and throughout the Tampa Bay Area for much higher prices than you will find here. So do check in often, as I am continually adding more pieces, (and you never know what you might find.) Not all items in the shop are hand made by me, many have been purchased, through the years, and now have acquired the status of Vintage, or Antique.
All items purchased will be promptly shipped, via USPS, (usually within 24 hours,) tastefully, presented in a gift box, and insured, (by ETSY's Insurance Carrier,) to prevent any unexpected loss, or damage en route, while still within US borders.
Please be aware that once your item enters your country, it can possibly be delayed by Customs, which I have NO control over. If you feel the delay is unreasonable, you can request the Customs numbers from me, and take it up with your local post office. They can contact customs, electronically, in front of you, if you go there, and that usually speeds up the process considerably. Mail can take from 2 to 6 weeks to reach some countries, depending on distance, according to the USPS, and then has to go through customs, and then travel to your local post office. Customs numbers are now sometimes used for tracking as well, which you can usually do from Easy. If you need help finding tracking on Etsy, please contact me through the shop, and I will assist you.
Place any orders for special occasions early during heavy traffic, (Holidays,) which can delay delivery. Also, be aware that bad weather conditions can also delay delivery.
PLEASE ADDRESS ANY ISSUES, thru contact with me, (thru the shop,) rather than e-mail, so that they can be addressed quickly, and rather than leaving negative feedback.
Allow adaquate delivery time, (before panicking.) In most cases, you can expect to receive your order within 3 to 5 business days in the US,(unless there are bad weather conditions, such as Huge Fires, Blizzards, Hurricanes, Volcano Eruptions, Major Earth Quakes, etc.,) which could delay the mail. So, please don't wait until the last minute to order a gift for a special occasion, (such as Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, Mother's Day, etc.) unless you aren't real concerned about arrival time. Grandma's Rocks
I started beading gemstones, making necklaces and bracelets, after breaking my wrist, as therapy to bring back the dexterity in my fingers. After I went back to my job, I continued, as a hobby, just for the joy of it.
After I found out about etsy, I opened this shop, to sell what I had made, along with pieces I had collected through the years. I also put up for sale prints of my paintings, sculpted dolls, vintage toys, & ceramic art.
Then I lost my job, and after a year of trying to get rehired, along with millions of other people, I decided to go for broke. I had just turned 60 and found out I could use my 401k money, and spent every penny of it on new supplies, and awesome vintage finds to sell in my shop.
And since pictures speak louder than words, I'll show you a few.

If, for any reason, you are not happy with your purchase, please notify the shop immediately, (thru the shop, not e-mail or feedback.) If any item should get lost, or be recieved damaged, (very rare,) you will have to provide proof, for the insurance co., and an insurance claim will be processed. Every item, (over $15.00,) purchased in this Shop is now mailed, first class, Insured, thru the USPS.
Again, Vintage and Antique items are not Refundable, (and should not be expected to look brand new,) but can be exchanged. Visible, (by eye,) flaws will show up in the highly magnified photos, or mentioned in the description. If you have any reservations about an item, please contact me thru the shop, with inquiries.

International orders may experience a slight delay with customs, however, so please allow sufficient time for delivery when odering, anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks, is customary, depending on your location and volume of mail, (esp. at Christmas.) Customs numbers are now the same as tracking numbers, and you can track your items from your Etsy acct., since I use Etsy to print all shipping labels. If you need assistance finding tracking, just let me know. We also have insurance to cover International orders, as well, now, (but keep in mind, that the recovery process can take up to 8 weeks.)

Also, on international orders, please note, that any import taxes, or duties on your end are your responsibility.
If you have been given permission to return an item, for exchange or refund, I will give you instructions on how to send it back. If you return an item after it has been damaged by you, kept for longer than the allowed time, (to wear for the holidays, etc.) or without authorization, it will be sent back to you, and not refunded. No Partial refunds are given if you want to keep the item. And you will Not be refunded for return shipping costs, even if you are authorized to make a return. However, if you paid for shipping when you purchased it, that might be refunded, (at my discretion.) I know all the tricks, and this isn't JTV, (but incase you didn't know, even tho they give you a return shipping label with your purchase, they charge your credit card $8.00 if you use it.) Nothing is FREE in This world. And scammers are abundant on the internet.
Again, all Antique and Vintage items are NR, (Not Refundable,) but can be exchanged, when authorization is given.
