Beginnings
Hello! I’m Janet, a twenty something entrepreneur who decided to take a different route in life. It was never my dream to go to college or take a traditional path in life. I knew I wanted so much more than that. I did try college and dropped out. So to whoever was about to say ‘don’t knock it till you try it’, well I tried it and ‘dropped’ it. (haha, no? Okay moving along.) It’s not for everyone; if it was your path I have the uttermost admiration for you! I, however, had a strong passion for creating things and painting. Texture, depth, and color are what make my heart sing.

Funny enough, Janet Gwen Designs started when I was in high school. First known as Sincerely JQH, then MadebyJH, then finally what you know it as Janet Gwen Designs. You can say my business had a bit of an identity crisis. Anyways, my mom gave me my first ever phone case. It was not a pretty sight for sure. It was something she had picked up from the flea market. I was 17 and broke, so I had no money to buy a new one. I was taking art class a lot, and hung out in art class whenever I had a free moment. Mr. Gander, my art teacher, showed me some artwork print (I wish I remember who!), and I was immediately inspired by the swirls of colors; then I though what if I added more texture and depth? It started on paper, but I was looking at my phone case…well you can guess what happened. I painted my phone case! This technique can be seen in a lot of the original phone case designs! I stopped when I graduated through, and went to college along with 3 part time jobs over time. For the next 2 years, my entire life was all about work and school. I was wholeheartedly unhappy. I decided I couldn’t live my whole entire life this unhappy and unsatisfied. I decided I wanted more and would no longer settle for anything less. In June of 2014, at 19 years old, I opened my Etsy Shop and learned every thing I could about running an online business. Thank you Google for showing me the way!

I never could have imagined it would turned out to be what it is today. I am every so grateful that I get to do what I love and live my dream every day with the support of my amazing boyfriend and team.

I create products, not to sell products, but with other bosses in mind! I want to inspire and encourage people to chase after their own dreams. I want every one to have the opportunity to live their dreams, whatever it may be, like I am blessed to do.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
RETURNS

➕ Not loving your purchase? Well, we definitely do not want you to be disappointed! Please email us at hello [!at] janetgwendesigns.com so we can help you out also so we can provide you with our return form.

➕ Returns are not accepted after 14 days of it being marked delivered. It must be postmarked by the 14 days when shipped back out to us. If it still returned after 14 days, you'll be refunded your item minus shipping cost (including priority cost) and 15% restocking fee.

➕After 21 days items are non-refundable. This means if you do return it after the 21 days without prior approval the item will be refused.

➕Returns are always refunded minus shipping cost, and within 14 days- 10% restocking fee.

➕ALL INNER SKINS, KEYBOARD COVERS, TRACKPADS, VINYLS and CUSTOM WORK are NON-REFUNDABLE.

➕ ALL PLANTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE & FINAL SALE -

➕CANDLES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE

➕If NON-REFUNDABLE items are still returned it will result in only a 50% refund

EXCHANGES and RETURNS for refundable items must be made within a 7-day time frame starting when you received it.

➕ Items that are damaged or have been used will not be accepted. Each item will be inspected upon arrival.

➕For international orders, if we receive your package back due to an error in address, or an unclaimed package, we will only refund for store credit minus shipping.

CANCELLATION

➕ Please do so within 12 hours of placing your order.

SOME NOTES:

➕ We do not currently cover the cost of return shipping.

➕ Received a damaged product? We're so sorry! Please email us within 24 hours.

➕ We're not responsible for items delivered to an incorrect address supplied by the sender -- please check your info twice! Customers will be responsible for the redelivery cost.

➕if a package was returned due to an incorrect address or misdelivery and you would like to return- a restocking fee of 25% will be charged. Shipping cost will also not be refunded. We're happy to resend- but you'll be responsible for reshipment cost.

➕ SALE ITEMS are FINAL SALE.

➕ Please handle your products with care! Damaged items due to improper handling is not our responsibility.

PAYMENT

We accept payment through Paypal or credit card. Orders will not be shipped until payment has been cleared. If you need to cancel, please do so within 12 hours of placing your order.

We have a 1-2 week processing that does not include shipping transit times.

Please email us if you have any questions. We try to get the packages out as soon as possible.

SHIPPING

➕All domestic items under 1 pound will be shipped with USPS first class. Anything above will be shipped with priority.

First Class- 2-6 Days in transit
Priority- 2-3 Days in transit

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
➕First Class International - 3-4 weeks in transit

Once the package is out of our hands, we cannot control or guarantee timing with USPS. USPS is not always great at scanning while they go. Please do not worry as it is on it's way to you. We appreciate your patience.

If a package has been sent back to us due to error in address or name, we are happy to re-ship the item. However the customer will be responsible for paying the additional shipping.



Custom Charges

We unfortunately cannot predict or pay for custom charges in advance. You will be responsible for any custom charges incurred. If you refuse the custom charges, and it is returned to us. You will be refunded the cost of the item only and not shipping charges as that is a charge we incur as well and a 25% restocking fee on any force returned. We will not mark a product as lower as it is to pass custom as that is AGAINST THE LAW, so please do not ask us to compromise ourself.
