This is the second time I've purchased this yarn. I love to use it for contrasting heels and toes and in wild neon slip-stitch socks. This time I'll be pairing it with lime green. Just a great colorway from one of my favorite dyers!

About

January Yarns - Hand dyed colors for every season

I’m Sarah, an obsessed knitter with an eye for details and the owner/dyer of January Yarns. I make vibrant semi-solid yarns for passionate knitters and crocheters who love color.

I learned to dye yarn in 2008 when I attended a dyeing workshop at the Estes Park Wool Market. I loved the process of immersion dyeing and the beautiful semi-solids colors I produced. Immediately I started daydreaming about starting my own yarn company, but as a busy college student I never did anything about it.

Fast forward to 2013: I was 24 and felt stuck in a dead end job that I hated. While I dreaded going to work every day, I took solace in my knitting. Knitting brought me comfort. It also got me thinking again about starting my own yarn dyeing business. This time I did something about it! I quit my miserable day job and started January Yarns in the fall of 2013. I’ve been blown away by the response from my amazing customers. Every time I fill an order I get excited to send my yarns out into the world, whether it’s across the country or across the globe!

It always felt like I had talents that didn’t seem in line with each other. I’m very logical and detail oriented, but also creative and artistic. I’ve finally found an outlet that combines all of my talents - dyeing yarn! I get to satisfy my obsession with details by quality testing my yarns, reskeining, and taking copious notes when creating a new dye formula. I also get to use my creativity and artistic eye by experimenting with color, creating new colorways, and naming new colors.

Besides knitting I love to watch TV, maybe even a little too much TV! My favorite show ever is “The Office” with “The Big Bang Theory” coming in as a close second. I have a major sweet tooth and love to bake. I live in Colorado and enjoy an average of 300 days of sunshine a year, though I’m mostly enjoying them from indoors (I’m not what you’d call “outdoorsy”). I enjoy reading too - my favorite types of books are non-fiction and young adult fiction.

Additional policies and FAQs
See a color you like, but want on a different base? Need multiple skeins for a bigger project? Request a custom order! Most colors are repeatable. The full list of repeatable colors can be found here: http://www.januaryyarns.com/colorways The full list of current yarn bases can be found here: http://www.januaryyarns.com/yarn-bases

Please allow 2-3 weeks for custom orders to be dyed and sent out. When you order I will give you a more specific timeline based on my current dyeing schedule. If you need your yarns sooner, please let me know when ordering.

All of my yarns are dyed by hand in small batches of 1-3 skeins. There are no dye lots and yarns of the same color may vary from batch to batch or even from the same batch. If you need a larger quantity for a project, please request a custom order. In order to get the best results in your finished product I recommend alternating skeins to avoid noticeable shifts in color.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't dye custom colorways. I can dye any of my repeatable colors from my Dyed to Order section, but I can't modify these colorways or create custom colors.

I only dye on my own yarn bases. I can't dye yarns, fibers, fabrics, etc. that you may already have. Thanks for understanding!
