Announcement   The story in my universe of paper cut people is that the paper cut people is trapped deep inside the paper, before I put the scissors to the paper.

I can sense that they are in the paper, but at that time, they are sad. They are unfulfilled and have something in their life that weigh them down. After getting a hand from the scissors, they are all cut free and travel happy around in our diverse world.

It is a universal story about that we, as humans must take care of own life and look ourselves in the eyes and work with the things, that makes us sad and unhappy - and in this way become happy again. This explains why all of my paper cut people smiles and are happy.

About

Paper Cut Artist Torben Jarlstrøm Clausen from Odense, Denmark

I have created a universe of paper cut people. The history is that the paper cut people is trapped deep inside the paper, before I put the scissors to the paper.

I regularly exhibits my framed paper cut people. I have exhibited over 100 places since 2003 including two times in Japan and one time in the US. I have just come back from "Norsk Høstfest", which is North America's largest Scandinavian festival hold in Minot, North Dakota. At the Høstfest 20.000 Americans each year celebrate the Scandinavian heritage. Norsk Høstferst acknowledged my efforts by awarding me the festival's Merit Award.

I regularly holds paper cut workshop, where the participants – under my guidance – get the opportunity to put the scissors to the paper and redeem their very own paper cut beings. The participants experience the very best of cutting paper - namely the moment when the paper is unfolded and the magic occurs – that is when the happy paper cut being emerge.

I also regularly holds lectures on my paper clip art and all the many wonderful experiences I have gained through my work as a paper cut artist.

I started out as paper cut artist in 2004 at the age of 38 years. I am 50 years old and married to Lene. We have two daughters aged 17 and 21 years. We live in Odense in Denmark, which is the town of birth of the world famous fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen, who was a very skilled paper cut artist.
