Even though it is made of wood, I love the softness of this tree, with its curved shapes and long gentle sides. I may buy fake snow next year just to see how peaceful it looks nestled in a soft wintery scene. I love how the tree slides apart and folds flat, making it so easy to store for next year, and many years to come.

This tree was my favorite new Christmas decoration this year. My only problem was that it looked great on the mantle AND as a dining table centerpiece, so I regretted only having one! These decorations store so easily since the two pieces slide apart and lay flat, so I know I have plenty of room in my Christmas storage to buy more for next year.

Really the cutest ornament ever, with the fun loop shapes in the middle reminiscent of tree lights. The light birch wood stands out nicely against a green tree. This delightful little Fa la la made me smile every time it caught my eye.

About

What is jbelle designs?

Jana Saur creates laser-cut wooden jewelry for her business, jbelle designs, in Raleigh, NC. After receiving dual degrees in Art and Design and Textile Technology at NC State University, she began a successful career in the textile industry. Jana started out in North Carolina’s historic center of the industry, gaining experience in the integration of technology and design in the production of woven, dyed, and printed textiles. She then moved to California to continue her work as a textile designer of home products and added an increased focus on apparel design and styling. After a hiatus from the industry to start a family, Jana returned to her love of design and started jbelle designs, where she produces original jewelry made from her unique laser-cut wooden elements.

The defining element in all of her jewelry is the laser-cut wood she designs and cuts herself. Jana uses the laser cutter to execute her unique geometric designs, with a process leaving a lovely burnished edge on the natural birch wood. Some pieces are finished with a stain or tint and all are water- and UV-sealed to maintain a beautiful appearance.

This is what Jana has to say about her design process:

"I design jewelry because I enjoy combining a range of textures, shapes, and colors, bringing together unrelated elements to create something beautiful that people want to wear. I’ve always been drawn to wood as a material and medium, because of its natural variation of color and texture. At first, my wood jewelry was a fun way to use the scraps from my laser-cut block stamp production. I soon saw the beauty and possibilities of the burnished-edge shapes and it moved me to begin designing specific elements especially to be made into jewelry.

I am drawn to structural forms and patterns, like the beehive. The hexagon shape and interlocking patterns are recurring themes in my work. I also have a passion for textile design, which leads me to incorporate classical repeat elements into my work, like the ogee, an onion-shaped motif. I let the wood grain texture and burnished edges of the wood be the focus of my jewelry, so I choose simple designs to showcase those rich features, such as teardrop hoops, thin rectangles and ellipses. I feel rewarded when others are also attracted to the warm coloring and design of my jewelry and I’m inspired to continue creating interesting elements out of wood."

Shop policies

Welcome shoppers! I do hope you enjoy browsing through my selection of original laser-cut wooden jewelry.

I have placed pieces in my shop that I have already created and are ready to be shipped. I do have a small stock of inventory of wooden elements that I have cut, just waiting to be finished and made into jewelry. If you see something and are curious if it comes in a different color or finish, just send me a convo and I'll let you know what colors and designs I have available.

Likewise, if you want the findings to be changed on something you see in my shop, convo me to let me know what jewelry you are interested in and what color of findings you prefer. If the product are earrings, I will not charge anything additional to change the findings. For example if you see this awesome pair of earrings with gunmetal ear loops, but you prefer gold plated, no problem! I'll switch it up and process your order right away after your payment is received. All orders will be processed within one business day.

However, if you would like for me to change the color of chain and findings on a necklace, I will let you know what I have in stock and if there is a cost associated with that change. I will not make the change unless I have confirmed that I have what you are looking for, you confirm the price difference if any, and complete the purchase.

If I am in the shop and about to cut more laser-cut designs into wood, I certainly welcome custom orders! Convo me about what you may be looking for and we can go from there. However, I only cut for a month at a time, then take a break to finish all my wooden elements and make the jewelry. Therefor, at certain times of the year, it's just not efficient to do custom work. However, if the time is right, I'll certainly let you know!

Thanks for your interest in jbelle designs jewelry and happy shopping!

Shipping
All orders are processed within one to two business days. I will put a notice in my shop if I am away and can not fulfill this promise. I ship using USPS First Class Mail. It usually takes 3-5 business days to arrive from my town to yours in the US, longer for international shipping. All jewelry shipped within the US is free and insured. See listings for shipping costs elsewhere.

If you prefer a different method of shipping or need your jewelry expedited, you will be responsible for the shipping costs. Convo me those details about what you need before your purchase, and I will add those shipping costs to your purchase receipt.
Refunds and Exchanges
I strive to present and ship only quality pieces of jewelry. If you are dissatisfied with your purchase, please convo me to let me know within 30 days of the purchase date of the merchandise. If the flaw is in the wood (that is not a natural variation of the wood), for example a chip or broken part, or is in the manufacturing of the piece of jewelry, I am happy to exchange your piece for free. If I am out of stock of what you ordered, I can exchange it for something of the same value. Proof of the flaw must be sent to me before the exchange will made (i.e. digital photo).

If you are dissatisfied with the color or product and would like to exchange it, please convo me within 30 days of the purchase date of the merchandise. If I have the items in stock of what you would like to exchange it for, you are responsible for both shipping your merchandise back and for shipping the new merchandise to replace it.

If you have any other complaints, please convo me and we will work together to solve your problem. If you are not happy, I'm not happy!
