Beautiful, stunning and creative work from the lovely Jeanie! I love my "Be Still My Gypsy Heart....." she called to me for a long time until I could resist no longer! The most BEAUTIFUL BLUES are included here.....you could get lost in this stunning mirage of a Gypsy Caravan in Istanbul, creaking through the narrow alleyways amongst the blue tiled mosques and minarets.....evokes images of the almond shaped eyes of beautiful harem girls staring out above filmy veils....a feast for the senses! Honey, dates and Turkish Delight! Thank you Jeanie! AND THANK YOU FOR THE EXTRA GIFT!! YOU ARE A TREASURE XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

About

Love Your Body, Wear More Jewellery!

I started making jewellery as a business in December 1992, when I sold my first piece, a Victorian inspired bat necklace, off my neck to a very happy goth girl in the restroom of a Toronto night club. I'd been making things since I was little and grew up with a mom who tailored gowns and costumes and created multi-tier wedding cakes from our home. But this was the first time I actually SOLD something I had made, and I went home to make more.
From 1993 - 1998 I made and sold my jewellery as "Black Widow Designs" - a name my mother and I chose based on a very ornate silver plated egg cup we had inherited from our family 's jewellery shop (William Coates & Son, Brockville, ON 1847-1921) that had the initials BW and the date 1885. while I working as a bartender, in retail shops, and went back to college for Small Business Management. In 1998 I went full time with my business and sold my work at shows and faires, and in select high end boutiques across Canada and the U.S. I branched out into bridal accessories and created a niche of accessories for alternative brides who wanted massive spiderweb necklaces in crystal and cream, and gothic pieces in lighter shades. I moved away from the overtly 'dark' stuff, and dropped the company name, using my own name instead. My work was purchased by local and international celebrities and worn at awards shows, on television, and featured in magazines.
From 2000 - 2004 I had a shop at The Ontario Renaissance Festival, and 2003 my daughter (my most beautiful creation) was born. Jewellery took a back seat as I focused on raising my daughter, but I still did the occasional show and supplied a handful of shops. In 2011 I married my best friend and the love of my life and my daughter and I moved to the U.S. In 2012 my husband's company offered him a position in Las Vegas, and we relocated.
In July 2014 I found out I had cancer and had a tumor removed, (which saved my life) but not before it had spread to my liver. I count my blessings every single day and continue to create beautiful things while continuing a battle to "slay the monster"

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me! Please have a look at my other shop, Dreadful Pleasures and have an AWESOME day!

Welcome! Here are a few things you need to know about my work and joy:

Everything I sell is 100% handcrafted by me. I am a one-woman show. This is my full time job since 1992. All of my work is an original design and copyright protected under intellectual property laws. Many of my designs in the shop were originally created over 15 years ago, and have evolved slightly over the years.

I was making jewelry before the internet existed, and only recently opened shop online. Most of my sales are in person at shows, events and festivals. I am not someone who just decided to make jewelry out of the blue - I come from 8 generations of jewelry in my maternal ancestry and have been researching, collecting and remodeling vintage pieces for over 20 years. I am very proud and blessed to have a loyal following of repeat customers and collectors, and am thankful of each and every one!

Because each of my pieces contains at least 50% vintage materials, they are one of a kind. If a listing disappears, it has been sold at a show. Most of the time I can create a similar "vibe".

I do not put my work "on sale" because I recycle my own jewelry. If a piece is sitting around for a long time, I take it apart and use the components to create something new. I am, however, more than happy to work within a budget - if there is something that has the right feel but is out of a comfortable price range, feel free to let me know and we can work together to create something for you.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
Payment
I accept Paypal only.

For custom orders and layaway I set up separate listing for installments payments. For custom orders, 50% deposit begins the order. Once the final payment is cleared I ship it.

I also am happy to do a layaway plan. Not everyone had the funds up front for a OOAK art--to-wear piece, so if you need to do installments to ensure you get the piece you want, let me know.
Shipping
Every piece in my shop is a finished item and ready to ship within 1-2 business days. I ship by USPS and shipping prices are for First Class. If you need it faster, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate you.

Shipping within the U.S. takes 4 - 7 business days.
Shipping to Canada take about 10 - 14 business days.
Refunds and Exchanges
I guarantee all of my work as long as you own it. I have been making and selling my work for over 20 years, so if a stone or a link ever comes loose, I will gladly repair it free of charge (shipping not included). I do not do refunds.
Additional policies and FAQs
Thank you for taking the time to read my policies, and I hope you have a wonderful experience shopping with me.
