Announcement   Specializing in night photography with a twist towards abandoned industrial, architectural, and natural settings. Unique and interesting locations captured in moonlight, starlight, and various mixed sources brought into the light of day for your viewing pleasure.

If there is a size range that you would prefer, please message me to let me know and I can create a listing for you. The ratio I prefer to work in is 2:3 (4x6, 8x12, 12x18), so please keep that in mind with any inquiries. All work is signed by the artist.

I am a firm believer in both high quality of product and local buying practices. All of my papers are 310 gram fine art paper, either Ilford Gold Fiber Silk or Hahnemuhle William Turner, depending on the print. My frames are hand-built here in the United States from a small family firm in Texas and come with an acid-free mat and use UV anti-glare acrylic to both avoid breakage in shipping and protect the artwork for as long as possible. Non-framed images will come either in a flat mailer or mailing tube, depending on size.

Please note that all monitors are calibrated differently, some colors may show a slight shift between your screen and the final printed product.

About Jeff:
My background is in theatrical lighting, and I've worked as a lighting designer in theater, television, and architectural spaces. My attraction to photography came from a desire to record the way light works and how it can create drama or capture an unexpected perspective on a seemingly ordinary place. This may be one reason I'm attracted to night photography. The spaces I typically seek out are quiet, and the solitude gives me time to sit and observe light during long exposures. I like having a moment to just be in an environment and watch. Sometimes the best shot of the night ends up being one I hadn't originally planned to shoot.

I particularly enjoy the technical and artistic challenges posed by relying on low-level available light. Moonlight, sodium vapor, metal halide, fluorescent, and tungsten light sources all have their own inherent beauty and challenges. There are also times when I provide additional creative lighting to spaces via light painting. When light painting, I try to use limited colors to blend with the existing light and create a more "naturalistic" look that captures the spirit of the location.

Night photography gives me a chance to see the world differently -- to focus on the quiet solitude of light and shadow and the beauty of textures, varying color palettes, and forms. I get to see a different world than the one we normally see in full-spectrum daylight. It is this other, rarely seen world that I hope to share through my photographs.
