Clearly my skill as an artist in 1994 leaves something to be desired but it was a fun start to my artistic journey.

Art and animals have always held much importance in my life. Growing up we always had cats and lots of reptiles; I loved to draw them! In fact, my first drawing ever framed was of Dolly, one of my grandparent’s cats. God bless my Grandma, it's still hanging in her house today! I guess you could say I always knew what I wanted to do with my life.

Unexpectedly in April 2017, I had to say goodbye to my best friend of 12 years and shining light, Chewy. He was attached to my hip and is sorely missed. It tore me open. He was always my drawing buddy, I still think of him as I work on new pieces and wonder if he'd be sitting on my lap or attacking my brushes. His loss still brings tears to my eyes but doodling him and having his portrait around brings a smile to my face when I’m missing him. Losing Chewy became my biggest inspiration to create beautiful pieces to memorialize and celebrate our loving companions. I hope I can bring a little joy and comfort to those who feel that same pain and longing in their heart.
