Great communication. Good craftsmanship.

About

I had to share. Enjoy!

The focus of this etsy store is to provide fun and unique handmade millinery forms. There will be the occasional finished product that was used as an example piece, later listed for someone to take home and enjoy. If you see my finished works and just have to have something crafted by me, feel free to convo me, we can talk about materials and pricing. But my main focus with Jennie Mini Millinery is supplying the millinery blanks themselves.

I first wanted to make my own millinery form to use in the creation of orthodox wedding crowns (For more information on orthodox weddings feel free to get your start here http://www.orthodoxweddingcrowns.com/crownhistory.php). I was getting ready for my wedding and was in the market for wedding crowns – what was available was nice, but expensive, so I set out to make my own. I started by using pre-made bridal circlet forms from my local craft store, not ideal. I didn’t love the result but there was no time to create my own form before my wedding.

Once I had the time, it only took me a few days to come up with the first few designs using special interfacing, floral wire, and fabric stiffener. There are two basic types of orthodox wedding crowns Greek and Russian. The Greek stile is usually a simple circlet, and the Russian closely resembles what most people think of when they hear the work “crown”. I make finished wedding crowns for sale in my other business – JPL Liturgics- where I try to supply beautifully crafted liturgical vestments and other church goods. But I just couldn’t keep these cool hat forms to myself – I had to share. Enjoy!
