Recaer en la pintura
Falling back into painting
A few years ago, I gave myself permission to take time for myself and start creating things again. I learned how to sew, started crafting, fell in love with pinterest, and most importantly, discovered watercolor, acrylic and the mixed media medium. I felt like I had been waiting for this my whole life! The possibilities seemed endless, and I started experimenting and playing. After a move across the country and purchasing a house, we now own a house where I can have my very own studio. Actually, I share it with my saxophone playing husband, but I don't mind. I finally have a space to call my own!!
I love painting and messing around in my studio, and creating new things out of old. A lot of my mixed media paintings have recycled paper and other found objects in them. Inspired mainly by the natural world of the Pacific Northwest...I am captivated by the beauty of various creatures and the lush landscapes of my home. Wildlife like owls, fox, whales, and insects are high on my list of inspiration, as well as the various flora of the forests around me. My mixed media and watercolor paintings are often full of texture and color. I strive to add a little more magic to the world with my art.
