CUSTOM ORDER UPDATE: I am pleased to accept custom orders on my small Hebrew aleph-bet (alphabet) tapestries. Each letter contains signs that point to the meaning of life. Choose the one that is meaningful to you. Information about the meaning of your chosen letter is included with each tapestry.
As the light dims and the weather chills, I am busy in my cozy weaving studio creating mini tapestries. Please check back periodically to see my progress.
NO MORE REEDS! Unfortunately, I am unable to find a reliable resource for the reeds I used in my table runners. Therefore, I will not be weaving these reed runners and mats for the foreseeable future. However, I do have a few left and they are pictured here.

5 out of 5 starsI had been looking for a mat for my dining table for when it is not in use. I feel as though I looked for a long time. A friend mentioned jerseygirlhandwoven to me to I looked at the shop. The mat I was looking for was there, and somehow it had the same peaceful feeling I was hoping for. I guess the reeds used for the cross-weave bring that feeling. Jerseygirl packed the textile very well and I received it within 6 days. It is so beautifully made! I unrolled it on my coffee table just to examine, but it seems so natural there, and brings a real ambience to the living room, so I think it will stay there for now. I will be trying it out on my dining table soon, that’s for sure. It will be fantastic there as well. Thanks, jerseygirl!

The Jerseygirl Handwovens studio is where I create one of a kind items using the fibers and colors that inspire my imagination. I create textiles from a variety of natural fibers that lend themselves to practical use and aesthetic appreciation. Focusing on simplicity in design reflected in the choice and use of materials, I explore the capabilities of simple weave structures through color and texture to produce sophisticated and eye-pleasing fabrics.
In my weaving studio in Portland, Oregon, I spend each day working in the shadow of four majestic Douglas firs, perhaps it was only fitting that I would find a way to use my loom to create textiles that pay tribute to the natural world around us.

I have been a hand weaver for over forty years. My recent work includes a limited series of table runners and mats woven with pan reeds, scarves and cowls of Harris tweed, and custom made Judaica items like challah covers and small tapestries.
