Hello! Welcome to Stitched by JessaLu - Thank you so much for visiting my shop! I have so much to tell you, please expand to see all!

**Before you send a convo asking me about a print, please check my shop: shop.stitchedbyjessalu.com. Thank you!**

I recently began offering Jane Austen themed bags which were featured in the Dry Goods section of the Fall 2012 edition of Jane Austen Knits by Interweave Press - I have a screenshot up in my Ravelry group here: http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/stitched-by-jessalu/2315262/1-25

Home of the ORIGINAL bucket bag! Often imitated but never duplicated. ;o)

You can read a tutorial on the original usage of this bag here: http://www.jessaluknits.com/2010/05/24/a-bucket-bag-a-cd-spindle-and-4-oz-of-singles/ they've since morphed into a knitting bag as well as spinning!

If there is a specific print you are looking for, please convo me! If you see a print in the shop that you'd like in a bucket, spindle, or large bag, let me know and I'll see what I can do! Thank you!

****************************************************************************

All hand-sewn items are made by me (yes, I am a one-woman operation - my mom irons for me once a week but that's the only help I have!) on a c1936 Model 15-91 Singer sewing machine in a smoke-less and cat-less home (but not dog-less, though she's little and isn't allowed in the sewing room).

You can see pictures of my sewing machine here: http://www.jessaluknits.com/2009/03/20/ecf-12/ My machine isn't fancy, it doesn't have the ability to do a lockstitch edge but she's a workhorse and I love her. She does the job while my fancy new Singer sits in the closet, not working.

I am MORE THAN HAPPY to do custom orders! If you see two fabrics on two different bags in the shop that you think will make a lovely bag for yourself or if you have a general color/print idea kicking around and would like to design your own SbJL bag please don't hesitate to contact me! (please note that custom requests are for fabric only - I cannot take requests for custom bag designs at this time and if I do not have the fabric in stock this will add significantly to the delivery estimate)

**All bags are machine washable!!**

**ALL READY TO SHIP BAGS ARE IN THE 'READY TO SHIP' SECTION OF THE SHOP ONLY** Anything ordered from that section will go out next business day (same day if ordered before 11am EST).

If you have a question about shipping times, please check my shop policies. Thank you!

You can read about my knitting, spinning and sewing at my blog: http://www.jessaluknits.com

About

Making a Quality Product with Quality Materials

In early August 2008 I attended a fiber retreat in upstate NY. I brought along a few bags I had made for friends and everyone at the retreat loved them. They insisted that I needed to sell these bags, that they were some of the best box bags they had ever seen. I was a little doubtful - after all, these were my friends telling me this and friends can be a bit biased ;o) - but I opened the shop anyway and here I am, 4 years later, still making bags on the same 1935 Singer 15-91 in the same room in the same 18th century house in the Berkshires of Massachusetts.

I love old things, I'm an historian at heart, so I use an antique machine and live in an antique house. My fabric, however, is always new, always pre-washed and always ready to be made into a bag that will be loved by its recipient.

I hope you can find something to love in my shop that will keep your knitting cozy, thanks for stopping by!

Hi! Welcome to my little corner of the interwebs! I hope you find something you'll love!

Accepted payment methods

Payment
Paypal is my favorite way of online payment. It's fast, it's easy and best of all, if you use Paypal to pay for your item, you receive it super fast!

Please pay amount due immediately upon purchase using Paypal. If you can't pay immediately, please be sure to pay or contact me regarding payment within one business day. Thank you!

If you do not like to pay with Paypal, I suggest you go to my url: www.stitchedbyjessalu.com to purchase. There are more payment options available, including Amazon Payments and secured credit card options.
Shipping
If this is a domestic order, your item will be shipped using First Class Mail with Delivery Confirmation within seven business days of receiving payment. Thank you!

International (including Canada) orders will be shipped via First Class Mail. I feel International Priority Mail is too expensive and, unfortunately, does not offer reliable tracking. However, if you wish to pay for International Priority, I am happy to send it that way. Please convo me prior to paying for your order and I will adjust it accordingly. At this time, the cost is $12 to Canada, $14 to all other countries.

If you wish your international order to be tracked outside of the US, the USPS offers Global Express Guaranteed service. For one bag, the cost is $32 (that is my cost with no markup). If you wish to have your bag shipped this way, please convo me and I will put up a reserved listing for your bag with this shipping cost.

Thanks for understanding!
Refunds and Exchanges
Please note that I take care to have fabric colors represented correctly in bag photos. However, the fabric pattern print location on the bag that ships to you may vary. That being said, I hope that every item that is purchased from my shop is received with much happiness! However, if you decide you do not like something, you have two business days after receiving your item to change your mind. Please note, however, that I try to photograph everything with as much accuracy as possible. If you have a question about color, please convo me prior to purchase. Also, only the purchase price will be refunded, not shipping.
Additional policies and FAQs
**SHOP HOURS**

I live in Massachusetts (Eastern US Time Zone) and I have found that I need to step away from the computer/email from time to time so I don't get burned out and decide to stop making bags. If you send me an email or convo after 6pm or on a Sunday, please don't be upset if you don't hear back from me until the next business day.

*********************************************************************************

If you have some fabric that you'd love to be made into a bag or a skein of sock yarn that you'd love to have made into socks please convo me and we'll discuss it! (please note that custom requests are for fabric only - I cannot take requests for custom bag designs at this time and if I do not have the fabric in stock this will add significantly to the delivery estimate)
