Wonderful cards! They come exactly as pictured. Love them :) Only minor concern is that the paper they come on is semi thin, so it bleeds through a tad. (I can see the marking/words from the front of the card when I used a sharpie). But it's not a huge deal!

My mission is to bring encouragement to others through charming works of art and design

They say good things are born out of sorrow. I experienced grief in 2013, and for months I didn't feel like drawing. Then on March 6, 2014, the internet was out at our house again, so we drove to Starbucks and I sketched. I couldn't stop thinking about how cool elephants are. No, really! There was this little anecdote attached to the stuffed elephant I received from Ian's Elephants. You see, when a mother elephant loses her baby, the other elephants stand around her and gently pat her with their trunks in a show of support. They don't rush her out of her grief, but stand with her through it. THAT is what true friendship is, and what I want to ultimately do as a human. To be able to stand with others through the good times and the bad.

So I started sketching elephants. Then tigers, and giraffes, and even alpacas. I usually work in my sketchbook first with pencil, then scan my sketches. I'll work on top of the sketch in Photoshop next, taking the initial idea and experimenting with it until I reach a character and composition I love. I work digitally with a Wacom tablet. I love this way of working as I have complete creative control on how the end result turns out, yet I'm able to mimic the subtlety and spontaneity of watercolor.

My husband encouraged me to start selling my work, so I began working toward that goal. Through career changes and moves, I've kept this etsy shop as a constant. Knowing that there are people out there who love my work motivates me to keep painting and sharing it with the world. I hope my illustrations bring you some encouragement!
