Announcement   Happy Holidays & Welcome to my shop! Every piece of jewelry in my shop is carefully, thoughtfully, and happily made by hand.
Coming soon: necklaces- some with gemstones, some with micro-mosaics.

I can adjust my jewelry to more perfectly adorn you!
I'm happy to shorten, lengthen or add additional eye links to most of the chains on my jewelry. If you're interested in a ring from my shop but don't see your ring size, email me and I'll make one in your size.

FREE SHIPPING from my shop to anywhere within the United States until December 20th! All items will be shipped USPS standard first class. (International orders must still pay shipping and any other fees that may occur.)

All jewelry dimensions are listed in the description.
I've started photographing my jewelry alongside a US quarter (a very pretty one donning magnolias!) but haven't yet photographed my entire inventory beside this humble yet adorable 25 cent-piece. If you're interested in a particular piece and would like to get a better idea of scale, email me.

I run every facet of my shop; from design and fabrication to photography and shipping. To make my unique jewelry, I use traditional metalsmithing and jewelry-making techniques learned while pursuing my BFA and MFA degrees in Jewelry and Metalsmithing. If you're interested in my metalwork beyond the limited realm of Etsy jewelry, visit my website: www.JessicaMohl.com

Thank you for visiting my shop!

About

Handmade Jewelry with a Fine Art Sensibility

In November 2013, I opened my Etsy shop, JessicaMohlDesigns, after making more earrings and necklaces than I could wear and not knowing enough people to give them to. After considerable thought and support from family and friends I decided to open a shop in Etsy and see what ensued. Working with metal is what I love to do and this shop is my first step to see if I can support my jewelry-making habit.

My experience working with metal began when I was in high school art class. I remember learning to use the jeweler’s saw and hand drill for the first time. I was so motivated I borrowed files and sandpaper so I could finish my pieces at home. My fingers were stained green from copper for days. A few years later, I went on to study art in college then graduate school where I focused on jewelry and metalwork.

Working with metal is what I love; I am enamored with each step of the process from soldering and finishing to sending out orders. To me, the design and fabrication process of each piece is indescribably exciting. I enjoy making jewelry that will the eventually leave the nest of my studio and be presented as a gift. It inspires me to know my work will be worn and cherished by another person for years to come.

As a craftsperson, I believe there is an unmatchable integrity and essence inherent in objects created by the hand. Everything in my shop is handmade and fabricated by my own two hands. Yes, each individual wire is shaped by hand as I'm too stubborn to use molds or jigs. Craftsmanship is very important to me and my goal is to make each piece of jewelry as solid and professional as possible.

My recent move from Colorado to Indiana gives me a chance to put all my energy into my work and I am grateful for this period in my life. Every morning I wake up, drink coffee and write then go into my studio and continue where I left off the night before. I make jewelry in my modest studio where I am sometimes graced with the guidance and moral support of my studio assistants: Kinski, Little and Sparrow. Other times, they take delight in randomly knocking tools off my workbench.

Thank you for visiting my shop.

My favorite material is sterling silver, which flows through my veins where there should be iron. I love its personality, willingness to solder and versatile skin. The gemstones that make my heart rush are moonstones, labradorite and opals.

Thank you for visiting my shop :)
I love to make beautiful things.
As a craftsperson, I believe there is an unmatchable integrity and essence inherent in objects created by the hand. Everything in my shop is handmade and fabricated by my own two hands. Only the chains, ear-nuts and some earring posts are pre-fabricated. My work displays evidence of being hand fabricated; this is the beauty of being a sentient being who creates wearable works of art out of precious metal and gemstones.

I do my very best to photograph and describe my pieces as accurately as possible. Many gemstones, such as labradorite, moonstone, star sapphire and other phenomenal gems are difficult to fully capture and my photographs don't do them justice.

Shipping
**Payment must be received by me prior to shipping and your billing address must match the shipping address.**
**US ORDERS:
After payment is received, I will send items to the shipping address as indicated by Etsy. Please make sure your shipping address is up to date.

I try to ship ready to ship items within 1 to 2 business days once purchase is successfully paid in full. All US orders are sent via USPS Priority mail with tracking information and delivery confirmation. All purchases are insured. I will email you the tracking information once the item is sent. Usually, depending on your proximity to my home, you can expect to receive your package within 3 to 5 business days after I send it. Unfortunately, unforeseen events may delay USPS transit speeds and I cannot control these things. If you desire expedited shipping, please contact me to discuss shipping upgrades.

**INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS, PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND PRIOR TO PLACING YOUR ORDER:
Your purchase will most likely be shipped USPS first class mail without insurance. Expect your package to take a few weeks (sometimes up to 4 or more weeks) to reach you. Depending on the country the package is shipped to, I may require signature to confirm delivery. If you need expedited shipping please contact me so I can recalculate the shipping cost for you. Be aware expedited shipping with insurance is costly and it is the buyer's responsibility to pay for expedited shipping.
The buyer is the sole responsible party for any Customs fees, duties or taxes incurred.
If your order is held up at customs due to parcel search and your package is held there for any length of time due to your country's regulations, this is not the responsibility of JessicaMohlDesigns. In the event that your country's Customs quarantines or disposes of any item within your package, for any reason they see fit, JessicaMohlDesigns is not to be held responsible for refunding the cost or replacing the order.

Please verify and confirm your country's Customs fees and regulations before placing an order.
Finally, please understand that I cannot mark your purchase as "gift" or declare a different value or content than what it actually is.
Additional policies and FAQs
CUSTOM ORDERS:
If you have something in mind you don’t see in my shop or see something you'd like in a different size, contact me to discuss a custom order. We can work together and design something beautiful for you or someone special to you. I want my customers to be happy with their custom orders and because of this I send updates during the fabrication process. In addition, I respect other artists and designers and will not copy or remake another person’s design. Everything I make will look like I made it. :) Depending on my schedule and commitments, please allow at least 3 to 6 weeks for the fabrication and completion of your custom piece. I am unable to begin any custom orders without receiving payment first.

Please note: Patina (color) on metal is not customizable because liver of sulfur is a fickle thing.
If you request any alteration that requires soldering please be aware the patina is likely to change during the process. I try to maintain the color as in the photograph, but heat and pickle (and more patina) may change the color on the surface of metal.

PATINA and FINISH:

The patina and finish on sterling silver is not permanent. Any finish (polished, patinated or brushed) on precious metals has a tendency to wear off.
Over time your silver jewelry will tarnish, especially if you live in a humid or heavily polluted area. You can easily remove tarnish from silver using toothpaste and warm water. Simply use a soft toothbrush with a small amount of non-abrasive toothpaste and gently brush the piece with warm water then rinse and dry jewelry. The toothpaste will not remove the patina. However, the patina will change over time on its own.

*Please remember to keep micro-mosaic jewelry dry; do not clean it as you would ordinary jewelry or the mosaic will be damaged.

Please never wear your silver jewelry in a hot tub or in hot springs.
Avoid using an ultrasonic cleaner without knowledge of the gemstones!
