A Hobby Gone Wild!

All my life I have enjoyed arts and crafts. From bead animals to friendship bracelets to cross stitch and painting, I feel like I have done it all! In my late elementary, early middle school years, I took a trip to my Great Aunt Lucy's house. It was here that my mom and I were introduced to the world of embroidery. My mom quickly bought a machine and I learned from her. In the beginning years, my mom was the main embroiderer and I would help when I could. In high school, I was part of a cheerleading squad and it was during this time when I began to embroider more frequently specifically for my squad. In my first semester of Junior year of college, I decided I wanted to have money flowing into my bank account again :) Not sure if I would be able to find a job, my mom suggested I try craft fairs. She also suggested I create a sort of "brand" for myself and use baby burp cloths as a starting point. It was this night that my animal patterns were born! I only went to one craft fair before I found Etsy in the summer of 2011. Once my mom realized this would be a fairly demanding craft, she bought me my very own embroidery machine! Fortunately I soon found a more consistent part time job a month after I opened my shop. Business was slow for the first year and a half but I was perfectly ok with that because I really did not have the time or means to devote to a full time shop. The types of items I decided to sell slowly evolved over time. I had been wanting to move beyond baby items but just did not know where to begin. I first found the headbands in late 2012 and my sales exploded! Then for Christmas this same year, my grandparents gave me an awesome gift, a sewing machine! Im a very new sewer but this machine has really opened the doors for my little shop. I knew I wanted to add another non-baby item to my shop and decided on the pocket tees because it would be easy enough for a new sewer to handle. My sales have been almost too much to handle after introducing these newest items!! This craft is definitely a sort of yin/yang between stress relief and stress causer but I love it!! I am a one woman shop and at times it almost seems to much to handle, especially since I am a college student and do have a part time job. I hope to expand my shop to more items after I graduate this May and learn to sew better, but for now I think I have enough going on :) Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoying my shop!

Welcome to my shop! I truly appreciate your interest in my embroidery. I believe nature is the purest inspiration and a valuable asset to the creative process. Animals are my favorite subject within nature. The detail and complexity they posess make them individually unique and beautifully remarkable. They are also adorable subjects to use in art and other creative processes!

Embroidered individual items are wrapped with care in a cellophane bag (or something equivalent) with a handmade cardstock top. I am still working on packaging for a set of 3 burp cloths. It will then be placed in an envelope and sent via USPS. Shipping upgrades are not a problem. If this is necessary convo me but an extra shipping charge might be required but we can figure that out in a convo. I will be sure to ship items in a timely manner after payment is received. If a custom order has been made (ALWAYS WELCOMED!) please allow extra time. If I am not busy I can probably create your item and ship it within 2 days, if I am busy it might take up to a week. If its a listed "As is" embroidery item I can have it shipped as soon as I recieve payment. I will be sure to let you know when it has shipped via e-mail or a convo. I can send items to a gift recipient's address just so long as you let me know in note to seller or in a convo and I can include a gift message.
